On Monday afternoon it was known that the horrific Cleveland Browns traded WR Josh Gordon to the New England Patriots for a 5th round pick. Yes, you read that right! A FIFTH ROUND DRAFT PICK!!! And yes, I just said the horrific Cleveland Browns.
The Browns:
I know I wrote an article on how they would make the playoffs this season but there’s just no shot in hell. I’m sorry for getting your hopes up Browns fans but your franchise is just a complete shit show. I honestly really loved everything they were doing in the pre-season and during hard knocks but this franchise can just never get it together. I mean c’mon, you tied with the Steelers, who had no Le’Veon Bell, where “Big Ben” threw 4 interceptions because he’s washed up. In week two you lost to the Saints because your kicker missed 4 field goals. FOUR! Like he should’ve, Zane Gonzalez was then cut the next day. Now, going into week 3, your franchise is 0-1-1. Honestly, i’d rather lose than tie in a game. Yes, the NFL needs to fix this Overtime tie bullshit but that still doesn’t help your cause. I mean, a tie is almost like you went out there and played a game for 5 hours for nothing. Now, at the beginning of the week you decide to trade one of your best passing threats in Josh Gordon to an AFC contending team, the New England Patriots:
The Patriots:
Boy oh boy, am I licking my fingers after this news. After the Jacksonville Jaguars beat up on the Patriots on Sunday afternoon for their first Week 2 Super Bowl victory, I was a little concerned. Not nervous, concerned. There’s a difference. And yes, you read that last sentence containing “super bowl victory” correct. To the football world it seemed like the god damn Jags won a super bowl. It was one game people, one game where Tom Brady had absolutely no one to throw to except for WR Chris Hogan and RB James White. Everyone knows that Tom and the Patriots never play good down in the south, in warm weather. There’s absolutely nothing to be nervous about, Pats fans. Also, Chris Hogan burnt “the best corner in the league,” Jalen Ramsey on two touchdown passes. Ramsey is by far one of the most overrated players in the NFL. Anyway, after Brady’s lack of passing threats, Pats fans started thinking about either Dez Bryant or another free agent within the football world.
BUT THEN…
News broke Sunday night and early Monday morning that the Browns were looking to trade Gordon to over 10 teams instead of just releasing him. To this day no one knows why the Browns wanted to trade / basically release the all-pro Wide Receiver but I can tell you one thing- Patriots fans aren’t complaining. No we aren’t. We got a pro-bowl Wide Receiver for a 5th round draft pick which is nothing if you ask me. On top of that, if Gordon for some reason doesn’t play until week 10, the Patriots then get a 7th round pick AND get to keep Gordon. What were the Browns thinking?? A real headscratcher to everyone in the football world. Maybe they should just change their name to the “Cleveland Headscratchers.”
Stay off the weed!
All I know is that this trade just adds to the Patriots offensive weapons and when Edelman is back from suspension, this team will continue to be the favorites in the AFC. The only problem, Josh Gordon has to…

That’s right, we all know Gordons past problems with the devils lettuce but I think the Patriots are the only team that can keep him in check. Owner Robert Kraft and Coach Bill Bilicheck will handle Gordon with good hands and will hopefully turn him back into the All-Pro Wide Receiver.
This is probably what it was like during Josh Gordon’s Uber from Logan Airport to Gillette Stadium:
