Kareem Hunt is a scumbag. No other way to say it. I don’t have to meet with him or anyone else who does that to a woman to get their side of the story either. Once there’s video of an act like that, nothing really will ever change my mind on calling Kareem Hunt a scumbag who deserves to pay for his crime.
That being Said
It was only a matter of time until the league came calling and the Chicago Bears are only the first and also the only team saying out loud that they have had a discussion with Hunt.
This part wasn’t included in this video.
Nagy is a Man of Standards
Matt Nagy is all about second chances but like he said, definitely not third chances. Once you screw up a third time, that’s it when Matt Nagy turns his back on you. And like Nagy said, everyone’s situation is different. Sometimes you’re dealing with a player such as Josh Gordon who has a substance abuse issue and you’re aren’t sure if you bring him in if he’s going to be able to keep it together and then other times you have a player who punches and kicks women. Totally the same kind of evaluating needs to be used to address those two situations.
Best Part of what Nagy Said
The absolute best part about what Nagy said was that he only called Kareem Hunt so that he can find out where he was in his life.
Not one second of Nagy’s conversation with Hunt was about if things break the way he thinks they might would he, under a ton of rules, commitments and other parameters that Hunt would have to follow besides what the NFL will have him do, if he would consider playing for the Bears next year. It just never came up. Here’s how I think the Nagy’s and Hunt’s conversation went:
Nagy-Hey Kareem, times in KC were pretty good. You and I had a good thing going.
Hunt-Yeah we sure did, I loved playing for you. You always put me in great positions to excel
Nagy-It was fun. So are you still hitting women?
Hunt- No
Nagy- Alrighty, we’ll talk soon. Enjoy the rest of the playoffs
Doesn’t Bother Me
It doesn’t bother me at all that the Bears or anyone else wants to pursue Kareem Hunt. As long as he’s good with the justice system and the NFL has him go through all suspensions and everything need him to do, I’m fine with Hunt trying to play football again. Doesn’t mean he’s still not a scumbag, he is. He’s just a scumbag that did everything he had to do to get back in the league and it looks like he will. Obviously, whatever team signs him, and I think a team will, knows the scrutiny and outcry there will be from just about everyone losing their minds that any team would open their doors to a person like Hunt. Fact is, Hunt is still young, talented enough and will be pretty cheap to bring in. That’s just how this all works and I have no problem with it. As long as you’re okay with everything that comes with signing Kareem Hunt, more power to you.
