Were at the point of the NFL offseason where we’re past caring about this year’s potential rumors that will never happen and are examining rumors from last year that never happened. Turns out, Adam Gase and the Dolphins were interested in acquiring Matt Stafford from Detroit. As per Armando Salguero, the Dolphins were offering up last years 11th overall pick. Not sure if anything else would of been involved, but I imagine maybe a 4th or something.

I’m guessing that most are down on Matt Stafford. I get it. Me, I’m all for everything Matt Stafford. I really can’t explain it. Maybe it’s because I feel he can throw the ball a mile. Perhaps, it’s because I believe he can throw a ball through the Pentgon. I don’t know. I just always have had a soft spot for Stafford. Yeah, I know he’s QBed a team that is essentially the Dolphins of the NFC meaning he hasn’t won anything. So, wanting him seems like a dumb thing to do. But, I contend that a change of scenery would really do him good. I mean it’s Detroit compared to Miami. Nuff said there.

You’d like to think that the Dolphins would of had a better record this year thus leading to Gase very likely still being here. The idea of Gase still here makes me sick, but if Stafford was here it very likely would be a reality. But the universe decreed that it wasn’t meant to be and Stafford stayed in Detroit and the Dolphins have a whole new staff who are looking to tank rebuild.

When I die, I’ll make sure I ask whatever person is showing me around the place what things would of been like if Stafford played in Miami. I’ll share my findings with those who will listen.
