Things look to be going swell for the other football team in New York. I don’t want to say that I never saw weird things coming out of the world of the New York Jets, but I knew when Adam Gase left the Dolphins to go north that weird, inexplicable things would happen on the regular. I just didn’t think it would happen in 5 months. The Jets have fired their GM after four worthless seasons and have placed Adam Gase as their acting GM.
If you can believe it, the signing of Le”Veon Bell to a big contract was a source of strife between Gase and Mike Maccagnan
Weird right? Can’t believe Gase didn’t want to throw $52m to a running back who held out for an entire season. At least Gase, now firmly as their head coach and now GM, that the line of communication between player and coach/GM will be an open connection. Gase loves to get on a personal level with the players especially the ones that some would consider “tough to coach” type players. That’s probably the kind of player he works will with.
To be fair, the Jets were awful without Gase there, so you’d think that things can only go up. You’d like to think that but as Dolphin’s fan I know it can get a lot dumber and a lot worse for that franchise. Gase runs the type of ship that people would rather jump in the vast ocean than stay on board. Now, you have him holding the keys of player personal. He’s going to get to decide who stays and who goes. Expect to see the Le’Veon Bells of the world get reprimanded for chewing to loud, which will lead him to have consecutive games where he has 6 carries in each. Gonna be fun to watch that press conference. In fact, it’ll be fun to watch the next press conference Gase has when he speaks about the situation. Can’t miss
