After the first week of training camp, injuries, holdouts and suspensions are happening at a quick rate. The New York Giants seem to be getting the brunt of it having injury’s to almost all their wide receivers. It is important to keep an eye on these guys during the pre-season. You may not want to take them as high as they would usually go for, but you also don’t want them dropping further than they should.
Here are the injuries, holdouts and suspensions to watch.
Injuries, Holdouts, and Suspensions
Quarterbacks
Nothing so far, unless you care about another RG3 injury, he hurt his hand. Just keep an eye on all the quarterback battles in that are going on in the league, not many but someone may shine in camp.
Running Backs
We already knew coming in that Ezekiel Elliot and Melvin Gordon were holding out. Jerry Jones spoke to reporters on July 26th saying,:
“He’s late,” Jones said Friday afternoon at a press conference at the team’s training camp in Oxnard, CA. “We have officially reported, so he’s a non-report officially and all of the mechanisms that are in place with your collective bargaining agreements, structurally under the contract, everything is in place and addressed if you’re not where you’re contracted to be, so he’s late.”
Melvin Gordon and the Chargers seem to be about $2 Million to $3 Million apart. I think this deal gets done soon, so close yet so far apart.
The biggest news reported on a running back today was the injury of Derek Henry. Henry was seen in a walking boot after practice. Terry McCormick of TitanInsider.com reported the news. Titans coach Mike Vrabel indicated Friday that Henry was not seriously injured. Definitely have to keep an eye on this.
Here is an updated injuries chart of running backs we need to watch.

Wide Receiver
Wide receiver has been a circus this week. The New York Giants had Sterling Shepard hurt his thumb, Corey Coleman, who some had him breaking out this year, tears his ACL , he is done for the season. Then Golden Tate was suspended for taking a fertility drug.
Tate was quoted as saying
“This past April, during the off-season, my wife and I decided to see a specialist for fertility planning. I started the treatment prescribed to me and just days later I discovered it contained an ingredient that is on the league’s banned substance list,” Tate said in a statement. “I immediately discontinued use, I reported the situation to the Independent Administrator of the NFL Policy on Performance-Enhancing Substances, and I spoke with my coaches and general manager. and did all of this well before a failed test was even confirmed.
“Per NFL protocol, an initial suspension was imminent, but myself and the Giants organization are confident in the facts, and eagerly await my appeal to put this behind us.”
As this was happening, hours later we learn that AJ Green was carted off the field.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports that the injury is likely a sprained ankle, and that the team is “hopeful” for the official diagnosis. Green has had ankle issues for years missing alot of games and fustration for fantasy owners. He has dropped in ADP the last few years, i might have to take a pass this year if the problems are starting already.
Antonio Brown has already hit new with an undisclosed injury. Maybe riding in on a hot air balloon took a toll on his body.
The Falcons are being cautious with Calvin Ridley and his hamstring. Getting him the rest he needs to be ready for week one.

Tight End
No chart needed here , and we know already about the 2 suspensions with Chris Herndon and Benjamin Watson. Tyler Kroft was added to the pup list on July 21st with a foot injury.
With all the injuries the Giants have, Evan Engram now looks appealing to me. With Barkley being the focus , i feel Engram should be peppered with targets down the middle of the field as well as Eli Manning can not accurately throw the long ball anymore. I may move Engram up my board.
