Week Two of the NFL season is here. Fantasy football is getting rolling, but you still don’t know who to select for your weekly leagues do you? That’s what we’re here for. Here are your Week 2 DraftKings picks.
Quarterback
Jared Goff (vs. NO) $5,900
With the over/under at 54 I want every part of this game. Last year Jared Goff posted a 116.7 passer rating at home, while throwing 22 touchdowns and only 3 interceptions in 8 games. After an abysmal week one on the road versus the Panthers look for Goff to bounce back in this shootout.
Other notables- Patrick Mahomes (@ OAK) $7,500, Ben Roethlisberger (vs. SEA) $5,800
Running Back
Alvin Kamara (@ LAR) $8,200
Load this game up in your lineups there will be points scored. Kamara dominated the snaps and looks to be in a workhorse role this year. I see two touchdowns in this one for him along with good production on the ground and through the air. Kamara should be in the $9,000 range so get him while he is still relatively cheap.
Austin Ekeler (@ DET) $6,100
$5,500 last week and he didn’t disappoint. There is a price increase but with the amount of touches Ekeler is going to see it won’t be enough to price me out. With Melvin Gordon out Ekeler is an absolute animal. Keep plugging him in until the experts realize how efficient this man is with the ball.
Derrick Henry (vs. IND) $6,000
The Titans have made it clear they want to give this man the ball and with a stingy defense the game script should go in Henry’s favor. Henry is going to touch the ball at least 20 times and at $6,000 that is guaranteed opportunity and guaranteed fantasy points.
Other notables- Le’Veon Bell (vs. CLE) $7,600, Chris Thompson (vs. DAL) $3,900
Wide Receiver
Sammy Watkins (@ OAK) $7,200
Tyreek Hill is out and that is opportunity knocking for Watkins. He looked extremely explosive, agile, and most importantly HEALTHY. Watkins is a stud and is going to see a ton of targets with Hill out. He’s going to be highly owned, but I think it is for good reason. Plug and play until the price says otherwise.
Cooper Kupp (vs. NO) $6,000
I was looking for a receiver to stack with Jared Goff and who better than his favorite target? Not to mention he is the cheapest option of the receiving trio in Cooks, Kupp, and Woods. I look for Sean McVay to attack more vertical this week rather than underneath like he did against the Panthers in week 1. Kupp should see a lot of targets and move more towards his 12-14 yards per reception rather than the 6.6 yards per reception he posted last week.
Tyrell Williams (vs. KC) $4,400
Kansas City is going to be ahead early and often and so I think the Raiders will be throwing a bunch this game. Chiefs coverage isn’t anything to write home about either, hence the 146 yards and a touchdown put up by D.J. Chark. Tyrell Williams is better than Chark I know that much, so get Williams in your lineup for the dirt cheap price of $4,400.
Other notables- Terry McLaurin (vs. DAL) $3,800, Calvin Ridley (vs. PHI) $5,000
Tight End
Darren Waller (vs. KC) $3,300
This guy is an athletic freak at 6’6” running a 4.46 40 yard dash. The beat reporters in the preseason couldn’t stop raving about Waller and I was on notice. He racked up seven catches on eight targets and looked every bit of the hype. Health has been holding him back if you’re wondering why it took so long for Waller to come onto the scene, but he’s healthy right now and in DFS that is all we care about. Gobble this guy up while you can at the $3,300 price tag.
Other notables- T.J. Hockenson (vs. LAC) $3,000, Mark Andrews (vs. ARI) $3,800
Defense/Special Teams
Texans D/ST (vs. JAX) $2,800
The Texans are a big home favorite versus a Jacksonville team that just lost their starter. I foresee a sputtering offense that could get behind early and forced to pass with a rookie quarterback at the helm.
Other notables- Jets DST (vs. CLE) $2,600
