The time has arrived for the Week 2 fantasy football tight end rankings, and it’s no surprise who is leading the pack this week. Week 1 was a crazy one in the land of the Tight End with T.J. Hockenson leading the league in yards from the TE position. Some would call ME crazy for not expecting him to go off…I just thought it would take more than a week! Some great performances last week also by Evan Engram who led his team in Receiving as well as the resurgence of Delanie Walker in Tennessee with a big 2 TD game in one of the upsets of the weekend as the Titans took down the Cleveland Browns.
As we move into Week 2, it’s obvious that we don’t have enough data on to say definitively which defenses are soft in the TE department…so I’m sticking pretty much with what I know…

Week 2 Fantasy Football Tight End Rankings
Top Tight End Of The Week
Travis Kelce Hands down. Like I said before when it’s early in the season and there’s a very small sample size of what the 2019 defenses are presenting, we stick with what we know…and we know Travis Kelce is one hell of a Tight End. With Tyreek Hill out of the lineup this weekend, Kelce will be slathered with targets. That can only be a good thing considering this Raiders defense in 2018 gave up just over 14 yards per reception…second-most in the league.
On The Rise
Don’t be surprised if this is the weekend we see O.J. Howard have a breakout performance. Last week was a rough one for O.J. owners. But that was mostly due to the poor performance of Jameis Winston. The Bucs will face the Panthers. Who had their fair share of struggle with the TE position last week giving up 4 catches and a TD to Tyler Higbee. A defense that allowed a completion percentage of over 72% to TE’s last season. O.J. is a must-start in Week 2.
Stay Away
Stats piled up against the Miami Dolphins this season almost shouldn’t count…they’re that bad. That being said, I’m staying far away from Ravens Tight End Mark Andrews until I can be proven wrong. With 8 catches for 108 yds and a TD last week against the Dolphins. I am certainly fading on Andrews…don’t you have to?!? Not to say he isn’t a strong player, I just don’t think you can expect that sort of production from him this weekend since he isn’t playing the Miami Dolphins.
