Allen Reeves, also formally known as Ryback, former WWE wrestler has a sordid history with tweeting stupid things, but one of his recent tweets wins him a Belly Up Sports Dunce Award from this wrestling fan.
Here is his Tweet:
As someone who suffers from Clinical Depression, I found this tweet to be very idiotic and dangerous. It gives people the liberty to discredit someone with this dangerous disease. Mental illness is not a joke. It is not something to take lightly.
Yes, some people get sad during the holidays, that is normal. Those are people who are missing someone or remembering memories. Even the fact that the days are shorter and we spend more time in the dark affects our mindset.
As someone who does suffer in this hellish prison, I can say that I have worked on changing my mindset, doing things that would make normal people happy, being active. It just doesn’t always work. It’s like hitting a wall, and you push and slam using your body, to break the wall down and it only hurts more and more, like you are being pulled down.
Ryback Should Recant
The reason I picked this for a BUSDA, is because people deserve to know they aren’t alone and that this man’s opinion should not make them feel shame for something they have no control over. So Ryback, you failed miserably with this tweet, and you should honestly take it down.
And that is why Allen ‘Ryback’ Reeves is deserving of a Belly Up Sports Dunce Award. With his omnipotent power as a mind reader, it’s shocking that he isn’t more popular.
Sidenote: If you suffer from depression and you read this, you are not alone. There are people out here waiting to listen. We are here for you.
