Sneaker Wrap Up

What up week two?
Last week we got our first look at the upcoming Ambush x Nike collaboration. Debuted during New York Fashion Week, Ambush picked some bold accents to finish this shoe. This fuchsia colored high-top Dunk is so eye-catching. This collab features a large rubber Swoosh, Ambush, and Nike branding and a protruding heel area. I see three or four influences from other designers, including aspects from previous Ambush x Nike projects. No release info yet.
Ambush x Nike 
Never thought I’d talk about Saucony shoes but here we are! When I was in middle school we called Saucony’s, So-Corny’s. However, the Saucony Grid Azura 2000, is worth a little chatter. This lime green and blue pair screams ’90s era. Bodega shop did a good job finding and using a silhouette that was forgotten. They’re out now, retail is $100.
Luxury pick of the week
My luxury brand pick of the week, Giuseppe x Swae Lee. Swae Lee of Rae Sremmurd worked on a high top and a low top for this collab. The low-tops, especially, represent both brands well. They’re slick and classic but yet bold and noticeable. The details matter here, they have hand-painted motifs and crystal embroideries. No wonder this pair is priced at $995.

Not quite a sneaker but definitely worthy of being discussed this week. Cereal’A went crazy on these Nike slides. The upper is 100% DIY. Looking through her Instagram, this is her flair. You can see the brightly colored plastic featured on purses, hats, and wallets. I would love to interview her and gain insight into her inspiration. Let me send her a friendly DM ?.
Last but not least, a pair of Adidas wore by, ME!!! I pulled out the 2013 version of the Adidas Mutumbo for an Adidas event for Jasmine Jones. I was really trying to wear a pair no one else would so I skipped on the Yeezys and Pharrell’s. Mutumbo’s was a great pick and started a few conversations. If you watch the Week 2 story, you’ll see me with Jasmine Jones. Jasmine is a Chicago native who did a pretty dope capsule with Adidas.

No release date for the Ambush x Nike 🙁
Those “so-cornys”, I mean Saucony’s caught my attention too but I had to keep scrolling, the youngin’ in me just wouldn’t let me dwell on the interest.
If they saucony drops to under $50, I’ll grab them. But not a penny more.
