Week 13 is in the books. Don’t blink. The horrendous first half of the season Green Bay Packers have now found a way into the final wild-card spot. The Rams are rising and the Seahawks are falling. The Dawgpound may be getting another stray after next week. The Texans are on the outside looking in. The North is the place to be. The AFC and NFC cold divisions are holding on to three playoff spots each.

The Eagles were soaring, but the 49ers came to town and made their mark. The Lions look like they hit a rut. The Dolphins and Cowboys still do not have a real quality win on their records. We may be looking at yet another sub-.500 playoff team in the NFC this year. Take this all with a grain of salt. It’s only week 13. With the recent expansion to 17 games and seven playoff spots, anything can happen in the 2023 NFL season.

AFC – Week 13

East

🏈 🏈 Miami Dolphins (9-3) #2 seed. Beat up on another “B” team. Still haven’t gotten a win against a contender.

Buffalo Bills (6-6) Did bye week help? Next three games to see if season continues in January.

New York Jets (4-8) If only…

New England Patriots (2-10) Belichick has five more post-game pressers to go. He knows how to tank a game, but two shutouts this year and 13 points in the last three weeks is bad for business. Unwatchable.

Week 13 Pats fans

North

🏈 🏈 Baltimore Ravens (9-3) #3 seed. Tough road in December to see if they stay the team to beat in AFC.

🏈 Pittsburgh Steelers (7-5) #5 seed. Turned the gimme game into a loss. Haven’t seen any eye-opening changes since OC removal.

🏈 Cleveland Browns (7-5) #6 seed. Flacco had the chance to keep hopes alive and threw a duck.

Cincinnati Bengals (6-6) If only they had given the superstar QB the rest he needed in the early weeks. Oh well, live and learn.

South

🏈🏈 Jacksonville Jaguars (8-4) #4 seed. The extent of the injury to the QB may decide this division. Otherwise, they have the depth to make a deep run in the playoffs.

🏈 Indianapolis Colts (7-5) #6 seed. Ugly, but got the job done.

Houston Texans (7-5) On the bubble. Rookie QB looks fantastic in the pocket.

Tennessee Titans (4-8) Almost played spoiler. More to come?

West

🏈🏈 Kansas City Chiefs (8-4) #3 seed. Hollywood kills sports teams and players alike.

Denver Broncos (6-6) No 4th quarter magic for the legend this time.

Los Angeles Chargers (5-7) Time for the change.

Las Vegas Raiders (5-7) What a great week it was to not have to see them on TV. Horrible.

NFC – Week 13

East

🏈🏈 Philadelphia Eagles (10-2) #1 seed. Can’t always play thinking we’ll find a way to win. Looked lost out there.

🏈 Dallas Cowboys (9-3) #5 seed.  Struggled against Seahawks. Angry Eagles team coming to town this weekend to decide who is the top of the division.

New York Giants (4-8). Surging Packers come to MetLife this weekend.

Washington Commanders (4-9) Unwatchable. Getting worse and worse each week.

North

🏈🏈 Detroit Lions (9-3) #3 seed. They may have peaked in the first half of the season.

🏈 Minnesota Vikings (6-6) #6 seed. Need to prove they can compete with the top.

🏈 Green Bay Packers (6-6) #7 seed. Not much in the way to hold the playoff spot. QB finally finding his stride.

Chicago Bears (4-8) Have chance to play spoiler in upcoming weeks. Not sure they are good enough however.

South

🏈🏈 Atlanta Falcons (6-6) #4 seed. 8-9 may win this terrible division.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-7) They can still win this division. They have played and stayed with the top competition in the NFL. Win column just not agreeing.

New Orleans Saints (5-7) Got out trick-played by another limping team. Terrible.

Carolina Panthers (1-11) Every loss helps the Bears. Please beat the Saints this week.

NFC West

🏈🏈 San Francisco 49ers (9-3) #2 seed. The team to beat.

Los Angeles Rams (6-6) Finishing 9-8 may grab that final spot.

Seattle Seahawks (6-6) The road is tough through December. Can’t figure out which team will show up year after year.

Arizona Cardinals (3-10) Stole a game in Pittsburgh. Would have been better off losing. Kyler Murray is the QB to build around.
