On Tuesday, Bronny James took the stand for the first time to address the media. Finishing another day at the NBA Combine, it should be mentioned that this was the very first time he would sit in front of reporters and talk for himself. Intriguing from the beginning, here are some takeaways.

James is just 19 years old. Hearing him say how grateful he is to be in this position? It just shows his maturity and humbleness. After going through so much from the cardiac arrest to the pressure of critics (like myself) who say he shouldn’t be in this year’s draft, he is just taking it all in.
What Did We See At The Combine That We Didn’t At USC?
Flexibility and a chance to showcase his talents. These were a couple of things James mentioned in terms of what the combine has allowed him to show scouts.
Gives Credit To Dad
From getting to workouts 40 minutes early to playing the game the right way, Bronny gave credit to his dad for inserting that mindset into not just his but also his brother Bryce’s brains too.
Ending Up In The Best Situation: Where Does That Look Like?
“Wherever I’m happy. I feel that’s the best situation that I want myself in”.
What Went Into The Decision Behind Not Talking To the Media Until Now
The decision about not talking to the media during his time in college was made by his agency team. He declined to go any farther.
What Do You Want Executives To Know About You?
A reporter mentioned how James has always been in the spotlight since he was a little kid (for good reason). When asked what he wants team executives to know, he said this.
That I’m a genuine person. I’ve gotten a lot of lessons from my mom and dad. But, also putting that Bronny James narrative out more than just LeBron James’s son

If On The Same Team, How Would You Feel?
With a smile on his face, James mentions how it wouldn’t be a just “me and my dad” mindset. Rather, it’s more of a “just happy to be on a team” perspective that Bronny is going with. His dream has always been to make a name for himself and make the NBA compared to just playing with his dad. James also mentions how the dream of going to the NBA could have been taken away because of his diagnosis and is extremely thankful.
“Only Draft Me If I’m Good Enough”

James has put the work in, and believes GMs wouldn’t draft him just to get his dad on their team too.
What’s An Area You Feel Is Not Talked About Much?
My competitiveness and the willing to win are a big part of who I am. Also being a good teammate and coach’s player. This will take me a long way in this business

Where Do You Stand In Terms Of Being A Floor General?
My goal isn’t to be that guy (floor general). My current goal is to fit into a role that a team needs and be the best player and excelling in that role.
Which Players In The NBA You Look At And Be Like?
Derrick White, Davion Mitchell, and Jrue Holiday were a few players James mentioned that excel in their role and make good money off of that. That’s who he wants to be out of the gate.
“My Name is Bronny James, and I’m Not Just LeBron James’s Son”.
That’s how general managers and front offices should view Bronny James. If they believe he can make a difference on their team, specifically on the court, then that should be the determination behind drafting the young prospect.
