As pointed out in my last article, NFL training camps are open. For those that live and breathe football, the excitement is only beginning to build. Obviously, the next questions are: when are the first exhibition games? Where can I find this information for each team in one place? There is no reason to worry. This First NFL Exhibition Games edition has it all!
When and where the first exhibition games for each team can be found below. Isn’t it wonderful to know that this week was the last without pro football until February? Please note that all times listed are Eastern. I added a note of interest on a few of the games. Keep an eye on all of the rookies, especially the quarterbacks. Do they play in their team’s first game? With all the pleasantries out of the way, let’s dive right in!
Hall of Fame Game: August 1
Houston Texans vs. Chicago Bears (ESPN/ABC), 8 p.m. Will Caleb Williams make his NFL debut in this game? Stay tuned.
Week One
Thursday, August 8
Carolina Panthers at New England Patriots, 7 p.m. Will fellow rookie Drake Maye make his pro debut in this game?
Detroit Lions at New York Giants, 7 p.m.
Friday, August 9
Atlanta Falcons at Miami Dolphins, 7 p.m.
Houston Texans at Pittsburgh Steelers, 7 p.m.
Philadelphia Eagles at Baltimore Ravens, 7:30 p.m
Saturday, August 10
Washington Commanders at New York Jets, noon
Chicago Bears at Buffalo Bills, 1 p.m.
Las Vegas Raiders at Minnesota Vikings, 4 p.m. How much playing time will J.J. McCarthy see?
Green Bay Packers at Cleveland Browns, 4:25 p.m.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Cincinnati Bengals, 7 p.m.
Kansas City Chiefs at Jacksonville Jaguars, 7 p.m.
San Francisco 49ers at Tennessee Titans, 7 p.m. Is Brandon Aiyuk still a 49er? If so, is he in camp?
Seattle Seahawks at Los Angeles Chargers, 7:05 p.m.
New Orleans Saints at Arizona Cardinals, 8 p.m.
Sunday, August 11
Denver Broncos at Indianapolis Colts, 1 p.m. Does Bo Nix suit up and play? If not, who starts at QB for the Broncos?
Dallas Cowboys at Los Angeles Rams, 4:30 p.m. Will the Cowboys have all their star players in camp before the first exhibition game? We shall see.
