After being drafted in the second round in 2022, Robinson’s rookie season was cut short due to an ACL injury. Sad, considering he was starting to show what he could do.

The former Kentucky product was inactive from weeks two through five of 2022, before making his mark in the NFL and getting into the end zone in week six.

But, week 10 against the Detroit Lions was when he busted onto the NFL scene. The wideout recorded nine catches for 100 yards, before suffering that devastating injury in the second half. He would be ruled out for the rest of the year.

However, in 2023, he was as healthy as he could be. Appearing in 15 games, he recorded 60 catches for 525 yards. Though he only scored one touchdown (let’s be honest, that’s an accomplishment considering the lackluster quarterback play), there were a few notable performances including the Green Bay game and week 17 against the Eagles (five catches for 85 yards).

2024 Expectations

If there is any wideout who we should keep an eye on outside of rookie Malik Nabers, it is Robinson. Mainly a slot target, his quickness and a 76.1% catch rate in two seasons are reasons why we should be optimistic that he can be a big difference-maker in this offense.

There’s going to be a lot of attention on Nabers. Hyatt will draw attention on the outside with his speed. That will leave Robinson able to get open for Daniel Jones and create plays in the receiving game or on the ground.

“He certainly looks healthy out here, he looks like the guy we thought he could be. He’s had some unfortunate injuries his first two years, he’s shown some signs of being a guy that can really impact games. We get the ball in his hands early in the down or be able to win later in the down on third down, things like that. He’s got really good short-area quickness, lower-body strength to work the middle of the field that will serve him very well.’’

Wide receivers coach Mike Groh on Wan’Dale Robinson

I fully expect Wan’Dale Robinson to be reliable and productive in his third season. There’s no doubt he’ll have more than one touchdown scored in 2024. As long as he continues to be healthy, he will be one of the leading pass-catchers for this team.
