Over the last few seasons, rookie receivers have taken the NFL by storm. Records are being broken left and right. Players like Ja’Marr Chase, Justin Jefferson, Puka Nacua, and even Tank Dell are having All-Pro level seasons, right out of college.
This gives Marvin Harrison a lot to be excited about. Not only was he the number four overall pick but he landed in a great situation. He will immediately become the team’s number-one receiver and will not have many other receivers threatening his opportunities. MHJ should pretty easily lead the Cardinals in targets, yards, and touchdowns.
Kyler Murray
It seems that recently, there has been a lot of criticism when it comes to Kyler Murray. I was never one to buy into it, Murray is as capable as any player to have a special season. He has been one of the more exciting players at times, specifically when utilizing his ability to extend plays.
He has the ability to run around for 20 seconds behind the line of scrimmage without getting tackled and that’s not something many NFL players have. He’ll usually even come out of the play with positive yardage.
I think Harrison Jr will make some plays this season due to Kyler making a great play beforehand.
Murray has had an up and down few seasons with injuries but that only puts him in position to have a bounce-back year.
It used to seem pretty far fetched for a rookie to become the number 1 receiver in the NFL but not anymore with what has transpired over the last few seasons. If Puka can do it as the 177th overall pick, I think Marvin Harrison has a good chance.
I currently have Harrison ranked as the 12th best wide receiver in football.
