Just when it seemed like Anthony Lynn couldn’t give the Chargers anymore of a reason to fire him following a 45-0 BLOWOUT… he did.
So, Anthony Lynn compared the current #Chargers situation to Pearl Harbor.

Maybe this is just me, but comparing the start of WW2 to an underachieving season sounds like a bit of a stretch. No matter how disappointing it may be. How this statement could leave Anthony Lynn’s mouth without so much as a pause is baffling. Coming off of (probably) his worst performance as an NFL head coach, you’d think he’d be on his toes regarding statements made about the season.
And what is this Chargers season?
A Big Bowl of Disappointment
Justin Herbert has been the true bright spot of a very dim Chargers season. Since taking over for Tyrod Taylor after the Chargers medical staff attempted to “kill him“, he’s been everything they could’ve ask for, and more. His last game not withstanding, he’s routinely thrown for 300 yards, had a passer rating over 86, and had thrown two or more touchdowns.
While he’s made some poor rookie mistakes, he’s also had the Chargers in great position to beat teams like the Chiefs, Saints, Buccaneers, and Broncos. So why do the Chargers sit at 3-9? Because their coaching staff has done a horrible job keeping the team buttoned up.
lmao after giving up a punt return TD, the Chargers only use 10 men to return their own punt (1 man deep as a returner) pic.twitter.com/3gaz8T6VHl

Week in and week out the Chargers seem to shoot themselves in the foot. If it’s not a player error, it’s a coaching error. They’ve only had close loses and wins all season long. So for Anthony Lynn to say what he said following the one game they get shut out and humiliated in, is simply idiotic.
To Sum it Up
Anthony Lynn did his best 2019 Baker Mayfield impression, and put his foot all the way in his mouth. He should not only apologize for making the bogus statement he did, but he should apologize to the few Chargers faithful that are left for the product the team has put on the field. It’s unacceptable for a team with this much talent to have the record they do, in the fashion they got it. If he isn’t fired by the end of this year, I will be as shocked as Warren Sharp.
THE CHARGERS COACHING STAFF IS THE DUMBEST I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE

In a league that is severely lacking in minority head coaches, I want the ones who finally get their shot to succeed. However, what Anthony Lynn has done and said both on and off the field this season leaves a lot to be desired. I don’t take much pleasure in this, but I am forced to award Anthony Lynn with the Belly Up Sports Dunce Award. May you wear it in shame, and reflect on your season, decisions, and what you could’ve done better.
