The Jets have had a lot gone wrong this year and are not the team they wanted to be by this point. They have fallen to 3-7 including a loss to the rebuilding AFC East rival Patriots.

There is one clear reason for their failures this year. The Jets have not been able to run the ball. With Aaron Rodgers coming back after a year off, too much may have been asked of him too quickly.

Statistically, the Jets rank nearly last in the league in rushing attempts and rushing yards. Only the Cowboys and Raiders have less rushing yards than the Jets. They average just 86 rushing yards per game.

This seems like an unacceptable outcome with the talent level in their backfield.

Breece Hall was thought of as one of the premier backs in the NFL ahead of this season but has not had the rightful amount of attempts. He has yet to see more than 16 rushing attempts in a game this year. A player of his caliber should be seeing 20-25 attempts along with 10-15 attempts from Braelon Allen.

Braelon Allen showed signs of being a real playmaker for this team just two games into the season but hasn’t had much usage. I think he is an effective back and could have some more big games to finish off his rookie season.

The Jets Should Have Been Relying On The Ground Game Throughout The Year Instead Of Aaron Rodgers.

Rodgers is currently 2nd in the league for passing attempts with 351 attempts.

Looking Forward

Looking Forward the Jets have a lot of questions to answer but the best thing to do is to focus on their game vs the Colts. This is a game that even with the troubles lately, the Jets should win.
