KO found himself in the crosshairs of Shane McMahon during the summer after defending the WWE Universe and the forgotten superstars in the locker room. Shane got the last laugh at the end of Smackdown Live on Tuesday when he fired Owens after losing the King of the Ring semi-finals match to Chad Gable. What’s next in the future for Kevin Owens? Two possibilities come to mind.
We’ve been down this path with Owens before! Fired or quit one week and he pops back up within 1-2 weeks. We also know that the next pay-per-view is Hell in a Cell. The cell is familiar territory for both KO and Shane. I can definitely see a match at HIAC, inside the demonic structure, to give Owens his job back and to send Shane off into the TV sunset for good.
The other possibility came about thanks to KO himself. After the show, Owens went on Twitter and sent out a simple message, “14-24-20.” Buzz immediately started circling as to what this could mean as to Owens’ next move. The possible answer lies in the alphabet itself.
When you compare the numbers to the letters of the alphabet, the message translate to NXT! With the brand set to make their debut on the USA network, another popular superstar could help attracting viewers.
Is Owens teasing a possible return to the brand where he made his mark? After all, when he first appeared on Raw, Owens was the NXT champion.
So, what’s next in the future for Kevin Owens? Does he have a date for Hell in a Cell or will he go home to NXT? The only person who knows for sure is KO and all he’s giving us right now are number codes. Stay tuned for what’s next or should I say NXT!
