The New York Giants jumped out to a 14-0 lead on the Washington Redskins at home in the second quarter. Because of it, Washington panicked and put rookie quarterback Dwayne Haskins into the game and Case Keenum was benched. New York Giants take down the Redskins.
It did not turn out well as Haskins was picked off three times in the game, including a 32-yard pick-six by Jabrill Peppers in the third-quarter and New York was able to win the game 24-3.
Dwayne Haskins completed 9-of-17 passes for 107 yards as well. He rushed for 23 yards on two carries.
Case Keenum completed 6-of-11 passes for 37 yards and one interception.
The Giants offense was not very good in this game, but they are mentally tougher at the moment. New York did turn the ball over four times, but it appears that it did not matter much.
New York scored two offensive touchdowns in the game. Wayne Gallman caught a 6-yard touchdown pass from Daniel Jones in the first-quarter and Gallman rushed for a 2-yard touchdown in the second quarter.
Wayne Gallman started in the place of Saquon Barkley. Gallman rushed for 63 yards on 18 carries and a score. He also caught six passes for 55 yards receiving and a touchdown.
Sterling Shepard was the leading receiver with seven receptions for 76 yards receiving. Daniel Jones completed 23-of-31 passes for 225 yards one touchdown and two interceptions. He also rushed for 33 yards on five carries.
The only points the Redskins scored in this game was on a 21-yard field goal by Dustin Hopkins.
This could be a very long 24-48 hours or maybe even next week for this Washington team. It is very possible they could fire Head Coach Jay Gruden.
Adrian Peterson led the Washington Redskins in rushing with 28 yards on 11 carries. Chris Thompson Jr. was the leading receiver for Washington with four receptions for 56 yards receiving. Rookie wide receiver Terry McLaurin did not play in this game because of a hamstring injury.
Speaking of injuries, New York Giants rookie linebacker Ryan Connelly was carted off the field with a knee injury in the fourth quarter. He has been one of the reasons why this defense has been revamped in the last two weeks. New York Giants take down the Redskins.
The Redskins (0-4) will host the New England Patriots (4-0) next Sunday. The Giants (2-2) will host the Minnesota Vikings (2-1) next Sunday.
