Week 7 is about to start as we are approaching the mid season. By now we are getting to know who the real contenders are in the race for a Playoff spot. But, many things can still happen. For now lets review the most relevant news of the week before moving on to our ATS Picks:
Baltimore Ravens / LA Rams
In a trade between these two teams, the Ravens acquire CB Marcus Peters in exchange for LB Kenny Young and a 2020 selection not yet specified
LA Rams / Jacksonville Jaguars
In a trade between these teams the Rams acquire CB Jalen Ramsey in exchange for two first round Picks, one from 2020 and another from 2021, in addition to a 2021 fourth round Pick
Tennessee Titans
The Titans have declared Ryan Tannehill their starting QB and have sent Marcus Mariota to the bench
NFL Officiating
In a game plagued by Officiating errors, the Green Bay Packers win against the Detroit Lions 23-22, finishing a very bad week for the NFL referees. Without these bad calls by the officials, the Lions may have won the match.
NFL Officiating
This season coaches are allowed to challenge the Pass Interference penalties. There have been 37 challenges so far, but the officials have only changed one. Even plays where the referees were obviously wrong, they do not change the decision after reviewing it… This is something the NFL will have to address real soon!
How we did in Week 6
Excellent week, once again in Week 6 we only had one Pick fail and this time we hit 3 Picks, let’s see the details:
Pick of the Week: Vikings -3
Kirk Cousins and Steffon Diggs had a great game and the Vikings beat the Eagles at home by a score of 38-20, winning our Pick $$$
Double Parlay Same Game: Titans +2.5 and Under of 40.5
A very bad Mariota game caused the Titans to remain in zeros, we got the casualties and we failed with Titans
Hunch Pick: Steelers +7
Our feeling was correct and not only was it a closed game, but the Steelers went home with their third QB and beat the Chargers with a score of 24-17, thus getting our Pick $$$
Week 7 ATS Picks
We have had two good weeks in a row now, and this week we will go totally against what most people are betting on. We will call this week “Super Mega Hunch Week”….so lets start
Hunch Pick of the Week: Lions +2
Minnesota Vikings at Detroit Lions: Kirk Cousins and the Vikings are playing great, I agree. But this week they are going as visitors against a Lions team who, after their defeat at Green Bay, are looking for revenge. This gives them extra motivation for being Underdogs at home. The Lions are a much better team than what their record says and their defense will complicate things a lot for Kirk Cousins and the Vikes offense. Meanwhile, QB Matthew Stafford, RB Kerryon Johnson and the rest of the Detroit offense are playing at a very high level. I think that they should shake off that loss at GB with a victory at home.
Hunch Pick Number Two: Bears-3
New Orleans Saints vs Chicago Bears: The Saints have won all their games without Drew Brees supported by the safe game of QB Teddy Bridgewater and an excellent defense. But this week they go to a very hostile territory and their main offensive weapon, Alvin Kamara is not 100%. The Bears have a real shaky offence, but they have a great defense and they must do the job. I think this week Bridgewater will not be able to stay clean and the defense of Chicago thats comes of their bye week well rested and prepared are going to force some turnovers from him.
Additional Hunch Pick: Atlanta +3
LA Rams at Atlanta Falcons: Both teams have disappointed this season. Atlanta has execution problems both in its offense and in its defense. QB Matt Ryan is not playing as in other seasons and the defense does not respond. The talent is there, but they are not executing.
The Rams unexpectedly are having a lot of offensive troubles. That offence that revolutionized the league last season has completely disappeared. QB Jared Goff seems to have regressed to his level prior to the arrival of coach McVay and he has made too many mistakes. This season he has just 7 TD passes for 7 Interceptions and if the QB does not work, nothing works in an offense. I think it will be an even game until the end where I stay on the side of Atlanta for being underdogs at home!
Last Hunch Feeling Pick: Cowboys -2.5
Philadelphia Eagles at Dallas Cowboys: Very irregular season of both teams. But I think that in this divisional game, Dallas will cut off their losing streak and take the win against an Eagles team who have one of the worst pass defenses in the league. Dak Prescott and company will be able to attack a lot through the air supported by Zeke Elliott on the ground. It will not be an easy match since Carson Wentz is a very good QB, but his receiving corps has been very decimated, his RBs have not looked as expected. And as we said before, they have some injuries in their secondary which is why has complicated some games. I think the Cowboys are going to win this game by at least 5 points.
That’s all for this week, enjoy the games a lot, bet with moderation and follow Belly Up Sports every Week!
