It was announced last week that HBO would be doing a documentary on the Cheryl Miller led USC in the 1980s. Cheryl played at USC from 1982 to 1986. In that time USC won back to back championships in 1983 and 1984.

Linda Sharp coached the Trojans and led them to two National Women’s Championships and three Final Four appearances. Sharp coached at USC from 1977-1989 and won 271 games. She is a member of the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame. Sharp was a great coach, but she had some great players on here team as well.

Cheryl Miller

Cheryl Miller scored 3,018 career points at USC and was a four-time All-American. With her outstanding play, Miller won Naismith College Player of the Year three out of her four seasons with the Trojans. The Trojan record, while Miller was at USC, was 112-20, which is pretty amazing in four years.

Miller Holds a lot of school records at USC. She holds the record for points (3,018), rebounds (1,532), field goals made (1,159), free throws (700), steals (462), and games played (128). Miller averaged 23.6 points and 12.0 rebounds per game in four years at USC. Cheryl Miller is one of the best basketball players ever; there is no debate about that. Miller is also the sister of NBA great Reggie Miller.

Pamela McGee

Pamela McGee was another star player to go along with Miller for the Trojans. McGee was a three-time All-NCAA first-team selection and was an All-American in 1984. In four-season at USC, McGee averaged 17.4 points and 9.9 rebounds per game whole shooting 58% from the field. Pamela’s twin sister Paula also played on the Trojans as well. Pamela McGee is the mother of NBA player JaVale McGee and her Daughter Imani-McGee Stafford was drafted in the WNBA in 2016.

Cynthia Cooper

Cynthia Cooper played a vital role as well for the USC Trojans; Cooper averaged 12.7 points a game in her four years at USC. She shot 48% from the field and averaged four rebounds per game. Cooper went on to have a successful overseas and WNBA career.

Rhonda Windham, Juliette Robinson, and Paula McGee were also critical to the championship Trojans squad; they help bring the court skills and confidence that led women basketball to become famous.
