The Emphasis on sports and fitness, some may say is over blown in the American culture. In my opinion, I agree with that statement but to a certain point. In American culture there is a heavily emphasized component in our everyday lives that establishes a sense of recognized self and bettering yourself. Thus, leading to more and more people going to the gym, wanting to look like their favorite athlete or superstar. While I believe this is an over blown subject in American culture, I do not think this is a bad thing.

Why the U.S Is Better:

In America we are a very competitive culture. Mostly everyone has or does play a sport. We understand the component of competition and wanting to outlast everyone. We can see this from a physical standpoint in sports and the various leagues, both amateur and professional. We can also see this from a mental standpoint in business. This is what basically makes America stand out from the rest of the world.

Another component of fitness being overblown is that everyone has heard of a gym. Mostly everyone has become a member of a particular gym at least once in their life. From an early age, we are taught to be physically active and eat well. We are told not to be overweight or underweight, thus watching your weight and going to the gym to get bigger, stronger, faster or slimmer. This is all taught at a young age and put into our culture since we can remember.

Sports in America is basically the backbone of entertainment. Unlike most cultures, sports take up a lot of time with our everyday aspects. I mean look, we shut down cities for a whole day just for a championship parade or even a sporting event. We cherish sports because it brings people together and it brings a culture together.

Sports & Fitness Are NOT Overblown!

Sports and fitness is way over blown in American culture but this is a good thing. Unlike other countries that cherish other things, not including sports or fitness can be seen as more of a laid back or non competitive nation. In America, we cherish the aspect of competing and wanting to be the best at everything. In America, we cherish what allows us to become ourselves, not to anyone else’s standards and that’s what makes us unique.

This is why America is the best country in the world, this is why we’re better at everything. This is why America is the best country in the entire world. That’s simply a fact! Thanks for reading and don’t forget to follow me on Instagram and Twitter– @jcmoore19 and my new Belly Up Twitter – @JordanBellyUp
