Vince on Smackdown
Just as he said last night, the McMahon’s and Triple H will be running Raw and Smackdown Live. Vince appeared in two different segments tonight.
First, to set up a Women’s Championship match between newly crowned champion Asuka vs Naomi. The second segment was talking to the Miz because he wanted Vince’s blessing to be his son Shane’s partner. I wasn’t expecting Vince to show up tonight as well. It will be interesting to see how much Vince is on TV going forward.
This is the first time Vince has been on Smackdown Live since he was attacked by Kevin Owens back in September 2017.
Pushing different talent
In this era, the fans are supposed to get what they want right? Countless WWE superstars have fallen victim to the “but creative has nothing for you” line so many times it’s insane. Several faces we haven’t seen pushed in a while had solid showings tonight.
Naomi who hasn’t done much on WWE TV recently, got a Woman’s title match in a solid bout against newly crowned champion Asuka.
Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows, who haven’t been seen on Smackdown Live since August wrestled the Usos in a decent match before being attacked by Sanity, another team who has been lost in the shuffle since arriving from NXT.
Hopefully this is a new start for the tag team division. Lastly, Andrade Cien Almas. This man had a great opportunity in the main event to show out and he did. He’s one of the best professional wrestlers on Smackdown and deserves this spot in tonight’s main event.
Daniel Bryan is the best character in WWE
Daniel Bryan has the best character work in all of WWE’s main roster. He went from mega baby face that everyone can get behind to an eco-friendly hipster that hates everyone and I couldn’t love it more.
From his more aggressive in ring style to telling kids on their birthday that they’re stupid, Daniel Bryan has found a way to reinvent himself and it might be the best character he’s ever portrayed.
Bryan deserves to be where his is on top of the card as WWE Champion. We can all look forward to Bryan as the American Dragon once again putting on classic matches in the near future.
Mustafa Ali full time on Smackdown
After an impressive showing last week, it was announced on Smackdown Live that 205 Live star Mustafa Ali is now working full time on the Smackdown Live roster.
Ali, known as the heart of 205 Live put on another spectacular performance in the shows main event. Teaming with AJ Styles, the pair took on Andrade Cien Almas and WWE Champion Daniel Bryan. After hitting his reverse 450 on Bryan, Ali picked up one of the most shocking upsets of 2018 by pinning the WWE Champion.
So now, one can only assume he is next in line for a WWE Championship match.
