It’s always a sad moment when we see our favorite celebrities pass away. Former WWE Superstar Ashley Massaro passed away on May 16, 2019 at the age of 39. Just another sad day in wrestling once again.
Who is Ashley Massaro?
Massaro was an American professional wrestler, television host, and a model. She made her debut in the WWE by winning the 2005 Divas search. She left the WWE in mid 2008, when her daughter fell ill, and she asked for her release to take care of her. Massaro returned to the independent circuit in 2017; for professional wrestling by competing in Zero1 Professional Wrestling USA with former WWE Diva Jillian Hall.

Writer’s Take
I knew one day I would see this day come, however, just not this soon. Massaro was one of the first females, that allowed me to fall in love with female wrestling. It was an inspiring opportunity to see her in the ring with skills and abilities. She was a never a Divas Champion, but she would of been an phenomenal one if she had ever had the chance. To many WWE Superstars have earned their right to be part of the WWE Hall of Fame, I hope to see Ashley win her rightful spot, where she deserves to be.
On the behalf of myself and my coworkers at BellyUp Sports, we send our prayers, and condolences to the friends and family of Ashley Massaro.
