I must say, that I’m not at all pleased that I have to write about the idea of Dak Prescott wearing a Dolphin’s jersey. But these are strange times in the world of the Miami Dolphins. According to Will Brinson of CBS Sports, he feels the Dolphins should be trading their 5th overall pick and their 18th overall pick to Dallas for Prescott. This is what is starting to make the rounds on the interweb:
If Miami is willing to give up No. 5 and No. 18, the Cowboys pull the trigger and go sign a free agent. If you’re Miami, you do that right? Two picks — probably less than the cost of getting Tua in a trade up — and you land Dak. You can hand him $40 million and get down to the business of building out your roster. I know the new “Moneyball” is having a QB on a rookie deal, but it’s way more important to have a good quarterback.
I Won’t do It
Now, I understand that Will is just trying to come up with wild scenarios that would be interesting and that will generate content as the combine comes to a close. But, I for one will never, everrrrrrr (in my best Chris Jericho voice) entertain the idea of Dak Prescott dawning a Dolphin’s throwback jersey or any other Dolphin’s paraphernalia. I won’t do it for fun. I won’t do it for something to do and I won’t do it for clicks.
Why? Because it would take too much effort to have a team good enough for Dak to win. He’s a guy that needs everything around him to be really good for him to be good. He needs a strong running game, stout defense, and punishing o-line. Now, I’m not saying that other QBs don’t need some of that as well. I’m not saying that other QBs wish they had a situation as Dak does. I’m saying that Dak and others like him, need all that to win games. Guys like Goff, Cousins, Darnold, Allen, Dalton, Tannehill, Trubitsky, Jimmy G, and others need play-action to have success. None of those guys, when it’s 3rd and long, and everyone knows they have to pass, is feared by anyone. That’s the difference between these guys and the Mahomes and Rodgers of the world. Those guys can convert 3rd and 9 more often. Dak needs deception to have success.
Dak is coming off his best, statistical, season of his career and he deserves to get paid well. I don’t think he should get anywhere near the reported $40 million that he wants. But he still deserves to get paid and he eventually will. I just want the Dolphins to have no part of him. I want them to draft Tua and go with a guy who has a much higher ceiling. If Tua ends up being a play-action dependent guy, well, that’ll suck.
Enjoy your Friday. I can’t wait to address whatever the next garbage rumor about whatever player to the Dolphins is. It be cool if it was something like TO wants to play for Flores. That’d be fun to dissect.

Ok everyone a lot of you cowboy fans just like myself. The boys should move on from Prescott. Why, he has significantly trouble throwing an accurate slat pass and the deep ball also. Over the receivers heads. He is also asking for too much $$. He has to prove some more if he want’s the contract he want’s?? He is no Roger’s, Brady. R. Wilson , etc.. these are proven QB’s
