NFL players don’t have much to do these days. Sure, they’re doing all the virtual off-season workouts that are the equivalent of riding a roller coaster from your couch. But, at least they’re doing something and making everyone feel that they’re working hard for whenever they can get back to their facilities. Mike Gesicki, on the other hand, may have just tipped his hand on a new secret play that he showed off from his home.

Although this was a crazy display of athleticism that only about a handful of people in the solar system can pull off, I don’t know if it was wise to show the rest of the league a new wrinkle in the Chan Gailey offense. I know I know, we’re in quarantine life. Showing this clip doesn’t mean that Gesicki gave some major piece of information away. And you can even make the argument that there is no way this play will ever happen on an NFL field due to Gesicki throwing a football over a house. Those, I suppose are somewhat fair assessments.
Cut Throat League
But this is the NFL, which we all know is a copycat league. Everyone is always trying to take stuff from other teams. Plus, Mike Gesicki plays in the AFC East with the hooded one. If you don’t think that Bill Belichick has cameras in trees or at least satellites in space on all players he thinks are threats, well then you just don’t know anything about football. Let us not forget what Mike Gesicki did to Bill last time they saw each other.
I guess I’m just old school when it comes to your playbook being your bible and in doing so, you take everything into the grave. I will say, I do like the idea of Gesicki at quarterback and then throwing a ball straight up into the air and having him run under it, using that splendid leaping ability and snagging the ball out of the air. That I do love.
It would be smart for Gesicki to come out and, have a quick presser and say that no this secret play is not something that the Dolphins are looking to do. Then, when the time is right, bust this out to win a big game, say against the Patriots in Week 15. Just keep it in your back pocket. It’ll be our little secret.
