The Alsco Uniforms 500 front row is completed by Hendrick Motorsports drivers, William Byron and Alex Bowman.
Alsco Uniforms 500: Stage One
Matt DiBenedetto pulls up next to the leader, William Byron. Byron drops down in an attempt to block. DiBenedetto takes the lead! DiBenedetto used to be considered an underdog but now not so much. Recently, he has become a fan favorite and has been running in the front of the field often.
Behind them they’re four wide! Joey Gase and Garrett Smithley are hard into the wall. Caution is out.
Back to green! DiBenedetto and Byron are side by side! Several laps later, Byron finally pulls ahead and takes the lead!
The competition cation is now out.
While under caution, Denny Hamlin and Clint Bowyer are caught speeding on pit road.
There’s trouble on pit road. As Corey Lajoie, driver of the #32 Ford Mustang for Go Fas Racing, was exiting his pit stall, he caught Byron in the passenger side door. Byron heads back to pit road.
Logano is your new leader.
Caution is out again. Matt Kenseth spins in turn four. Just before this caution, Fox Sport 1 TV crews had to seek shelter for a lightning delay but now the rain has started to fall. The red flag is out.
The track is dry and it’s time to go back racing! The green flag flies again and Logano leads.
Joey Logano wins stage one!
Stage Two
Logano continues to lead.
Aric Almirola and Kyle Busch make contact with each other. The green stays out, but Busch has a flat tire so he heads for pit road.
Kevin Harvick passes Logano for the lead!
Brennan Poole is loose below Quin Houff. They make contact and Houff tags the wall. Caution is out.
Alex Bowman leads.
Harvick’s nickname, “The Closer,” is showing through right now as he has moved his way into the top 10 after he pitted under caution resulting in lost positions.
While Harvick continues to gain more spots, Bowman still leads.
Alex Bowman wins stage two of the Alsco Uniforms 500!
Stage Three: Alsco Uniforms 500
Bowman remains in the top spot, followed by Harvick in second.
Harvick peeks to the outside and takes the lead!
Bowman is now on pit road. He got loose and into the wall. The team is surveying the damage.
With 64 laps to go, Timmy Hill spins bringing out the caution.
Erik Jones, pitted outside his pit stall, has been penalized.
Closing In On 20 To Go
Harvick leads at the restart.
Chase Elliott is closing the gap between him and the leader.
Harvick and Elliott are closely followed by Ryan Blaney.
Harvick is loose and almost tags the wall but saves it, but it was just enough for Chase Elliott to take advantage. Elliott takes the lead as we’re closing in on 20 laps to go!
Harvick is now struggling with handling issues and has fallen to third. Blaney moves to second.
Only five laps to go!
