As the COVID-19 opt out deadline passes, a clearer picture has been painted for us NFL fans. There is a good feeling that we will have NFL in 2020. I’m an avid football fan and love everything that comes with it. Whether it is fantasy football or sports betting, I have my money somewhere! So, lets take a very early look at some Week 1 NFL Bets!
Opening Night
Oh, football is back! The defending Super Bowl champs will kickoff their repeat campaign against the new look Houston Texans. Patrick Mahomes just got paid, and will be his usual self on opening night. I would expect over 350 passing yards for him. When I say new look Texans, I mean who is Deshaun Watson going to throw to?? With DeAndre Hopkins now in Arizona, the Texans will rely on Will Fuller, Brandin Cooks, and Randall Cobb.
With all this being said, I still would lean toward the Texans covering in this game. The Chiefs’ defense was riding high in the tail end of last season, and I expect them to come back to earth. This game will not be short of scoring, as both QB’s go back and forth. Give me the Houston Texans +10 to start off the 2020 season on the right start.
Monday Night Football
The best way to end Week 1 of NFL football. I love the double header on Monday night and I think there are places to win big here. First off, give me Pittsburgh -3.5 all day! Big Ben is back and I expect a big game from JuJu Smith-Schuster against the lackluster Giants’ secondary. Yes, I expect a better year from the New York squad, but Pittsburgh possesses a Top 5 defense and well-rounded offensive approach. I will be hammering the Steelers -3.5 for the first Monday night football game.
Well hey, lets make it two wins for the night. Let’s go with the track team of an offense with the Denver Broncos. Drew Lock showed some promise in the back half of 2019, so the Broncos went out and got him some pass catchers. Between Jerry Jeudy and KJ Hamler, Lock will have no shortage of pass catchers in 2020. It will be hard to stop King Henry but with Jack Conklin now in Cleveland, I think the Titans may struggle early. Give me the Broncos -1.
A Few More Winners for You!
I will make this quick and easy for you! Here are a couple more winners for your Week 1 NFL Bets!
Give me…
Seattle -1
Russell Wilson and the boys get it done in Atlanta. Wilson is one of my favorite bets to win MVP in 2020.
Philadelphia -6
Is it Wentz’ year? Possibly, I mean c’mon they are playing a team that doesn’t even have a name.
Buffalo -6
Another year for Josh Allen and an improved run game. I expect them to play stout defense and run the ball all over the J-E-T-S.
So take these Week 1 NFL bets to the bank and lets start off the 2020 season on the right foot.
