Today we learned that the Green Bay Packers made Aaron Rodgers a huge offer to stay in Green Bay, however, Rodgers declined the offer. With that being said, what does this mean and what do I predict will happen to the disgruntled star?
The Offer for Aaron Rodgers
This tweet from Adam Schefter this morning is the first true fact we know from the Rodgers’ saga in a good while. This offseason featured many rumors about Rodgers potentially going to the Broncos or the Raiders, but nothing panned out.
This off-season, the Packers offered Aaron Rodgers a two-year contract extension that would have tied him to Green Bay for five more seasons and made him the highest-paid QB and player in football.

Rodgers declined the offer, proof it’s not about the money.
We assumed this wasn’t about the money, now we definitely are sure. This is a sign from Rodgers that he’s pissed off and no sum of money can fix the situation. From what we know, Rodgers is upset with the front office. Is it because of the Jordan Love situation? Maybe. Just watch this clip and tell me if you think Rodgers is lying. I don’t think he is.
My Prediction
Let’s see if I can correctly predict what happens. After the Aaron Rodgers offer became public, it confirmed what we believed. It’s not about the money. Both sides firmly believe in their side, so neither will budge. This situation won’t end with a trade. That’s my prediction. I can’t wait until I read this article again in a few months and laugh at myself.
Unfortunately for Rodgers, there is no way the Packers will budge. They are a stubborn organization, and if they are paying a quarterback who won’t play but can put Jordan Love in, then they’ll sleep at night. Consequently, this only ends if Rodgers plays in green and gold or rides his contract out not in uniform. Are there any Vegas odds on this yet?
