Probably the funniest thing that’s happened so far on the Manning-Cast of Monday Night Football was when Eli Manning flipped off America. I’m serious! Eli gave two middle fingers to America on Monday Night Football during the Cowboys vs. Eagles game.

Let’s get a play by play on what happened. It was the fourth quarter of a blow out game. Eli and Peyton Manning have former Eagles player Chris Long on the broadcast to talk about playing in Philly. Eli goes on to talk about why he hated playing in Philly, specifically why he hated the fans. Manning explained that he hated to get the double bird from a nine-year old every time he showed up to the “Linc.” Fair enough Eli, fair enough.
The Manning Cast
So far, the ManningCast is a rousing success. We’ve needed something different in the world of broadcast, and that’s certainly what we have with Peyton and Eli. The brothers break down everything about the great sport of football as it happens, and they bring in great guests to talk about their experiences with the game. For the Cowboys and Eagles game, the brothers brought in Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, Alabama coach Nick Saban, Super Bowl Champion Chris Long, and ex-NFL prospect Lebron James.
The brothers even acknowledge criticism on the show, which is a rare thing these days. Peyton admitted to sometimes talking over the guests and Eli promised that he would talk more during the broadcast.
So far, the broadcast is incredibly successful. Some people, myself included, love the broadcast and am happy to see something new in the NFL world. I can’t wait to see the brothers back in week seven and see if this time Eli moons the camera instead.
