Attribute Breakdown
Tackling – Cine often tackles too high, but he is an efficient tackler. He packs a mean punch and can bring the boom using explosive burst in close quarters. He wraps up well and hardly gets juked or trucked.
Range – Great range and speed. He had instances of taking an extra step to get to his spot, slowing him down, but usually, he is very quick to get anywhere on the field he needs to be. He is a true sideline-to-sideline player with elite pursuit ability as well. His closing speed is lightning fast, and he makes tackles all over the field.
Block Shedding – Very good block shedder, especially for his size. He is more of a lean player rather than a bulky one, but when noticing a block, he engages with force to disarm and stun the blocker, then disengages with ease. It’s truly a one-of-a-kind technique that is extremely effective.
Ball Skills – Cine is a pass-breakup machine. When the ball is anywhere in his area his hands track them with perfection, and he gets his hands in the precise spot to disrupt the pass. He uses great leaping ability and body contortion to ALWAYS get his hands into the passing lane.
Man Coverage – He wasn’t tasked with much press coverage or even tight man. On the few occasions in which he had to cover 1v1, it was soft coverage (hovering behind, nothing past him). He is much more of a deep safety than a drop-down slot corner.
Zone Coverage – Outstanding reactionary quickness and ability to read the QB. At times, he changed direction seemingly before the receiver did. He has explosive closing speed and is an ideal deep rangy safety.
Football IQ – Extremely instinctual player, Cine hardly missteps. He has a great feel for the game and its nuances, and he consistently made individual great plays.
Size & Athleticism – Phenomenal length and explosive speed. Cine also put up massive combine numbers and is a top-end athlete without a doubt. He uses his length to his advantage, helping him be one of the better pass-disruptors in the nation.
Combine – Cine is one of the bigger Combine winners on the defensive side. With an explosive 4.37 40 and 11’1” broad jump, he is an enticing physical specimen. He also measured up well, boasting a 78” wingspan and coming in at 6’2”, which is an inch taller than previously expected.
Overall
Lewis Cine is an electric athlete and was one of the most consistently reliable tacklers for the stout Georgia defense.
Rangy and athletic, he is an ideal deep safety, but he has the versatility and experience to drop into the box. He showed good man coverage abilities and he tracks down ball carriers with precision. As a physical player, he is well-equipped for the NFL.
After a stellar junior season, Cine lit up the Combine, along with the other Georgia defenders.
His ceiling is extremely high, and he is easily a 1st round talent in my eyes.
