The Masked Singer season nine New York Night episode aired this week. Two singers joined the competition as they tried to dethrone Medusa. Also, there were more surprise reveals.
This week two new contestants took on the reigning champ from last week. They sang a collection of songs synonymous with the history of New York and presented new clues. Here is a recap of the fun episode including the big reveals at the end.
New York Night
Polar Bear
Polar Bear gave a fun performance this week with nice vocals and rapping skills. He has a lot of stage presence and character that the fans enjoyed. The panelists think that he is a professional singer or rapper. Also, his clue package referenced that he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Clues: Brooklyn, lottery ticket, music industry, electronics, and records.
Popular Guesses: LL Cool J, Vanilla Ice
Medusa
Medusa gave one of her best performances of the season. She has a distinct and interesting voice that sounds familiar. The panelists think that she is a young and popular singer. Her clues referenced that she worked with her dad.
Clues: come back, terrier, titles, British, bridge, and scales.
Popular Guesses: Briggs Bishop, Fergie
California Roll
The California Roll turns out to be a multi-person group. They gave a good performance with amazing vocals and harmonies. The panelists think that they are a professional singing group of some sort. Their clue package referenced that they moved to Los Angeles to become big stars.
Clues: Skateboards, group project, DJ, Broadway, tiger, and five billion.
Popular Guesses: Big Time Rush, Pentatonix
New York Night Reveals
The judges decided to use one of their saves this week. Medusa was saved from elimination and will have to battle it out to get back in the competition. The Polar Bear was eliminated and revealed as legendary rapper Grander Master Flash.
