The Masked Singer season 12 premiered and aired this week. The stars continue to face off against each other in the singing competition and there will be more twists.
It features all-new special theme nights and music from iconic superstars. Additionally, new this season are hidden clues and masked ambassadors which viewers were introduced to during the episode. The premiere featured performances from Group A including Buffalo Show bird, Woodpecker, Ship, and Leaf Sheep. Here is a recap of the season 12 premiere and more.
Season 12 Premiere Group A

Therefore the panelists are guessing they could be a boy band like 98 Degees or Boys to Men. . Their visual clues included slots, film rolls, and sitcoms.
Show Bird took the stage in style and gave a nice rendition of a popular song. The vocal tone and stage presence were impressive. The panelists think Show Bird is an actress who can sing like Taraji P Henson or Yvette Nicole Brown. Her clue package said that she was a nerd in high school. The visual clues included a gavel, and, tomboy, and movie theater.
Another singer to take the stage during the premiere was Woodpecker. She gave an entertaining performance and showed off some nice vocals. The panelists guessed she could be a young star like Cardi B or Keke Palmer. The clue package mentioned she was a young mogul and TV star. The visual clues featured a sports-illustrated cover, world record, family, and businesswoman,
More Performances
Standard code Embed from Getty ImagesAlso, Ship performed a slowed-down moody version of Bastille’s “Pompeii”. The haunting rendition is helped by the singer’s incredible lower register and range. It has become evident that the voice belongs to a legendary singer. Therefore the panelists guessed she was either Annie Lennox or Cher. The clue package showed that she had hit records. Her visual clues included storms, antennas, and wanted signs.
Finally, Leaf Sheep gave a fun performance this week. He is an interesting character who knows how to work on the stage. The panelists guessed he was a football player like John Elway or Troy Aikman. His clue package mentioned that he revitalized a sports franchise. The visual clues featured a sea horse, a guitar pick, a football, and a quarter.
Smackdown and Reveal
This week there was no smackdown but here was an elimination. The Leaf Sheep was revealed as hall-of-fame NFL quarterback John Elway. He is a two-time Super Bowl champion and played for the Denver Broncos.
