The Masked Singer Season 12 preview includes new costumes, theme nights, and other surprises. It will be another fun season the popular reality singing competition.
Season 12 is set to premiere on September 25th with more mystery, music, and exquisite costumes. The new season is expected to be filled with extraordinary performances and shocking celebrity reveals. Read on to learn everything about season 12 before next week’s premiere.
Season 12 Preview

The show will have a “Footloose” theme to mark the movie’s 40th anniversary alongside Mattel’s Barbie which will celebrate its 60th anniversary. Miley Cyrus theme night will be a tribute to her iconic music catalog. Other theme nights will include “ 60s “ Night, “ Sports Night” and “Who Are You Fest” which features music from memorable festival lineups. Theme nights have been a part of the format for a while with the returning “Soundtrack of My Life” and Thanksgiving Night”.
The format is expected to be similar to last season’s, with three groups of five contestants. Smackdown Round will return, with the bottom two singers each week facing off for a spot the next week. It’s been a fun addition to the show, as viewers get to see the singers’ different interpretations of the same song. There will also be a save bell that the panelists can use once this year.
Clue Additions and Costumes

The show will add or take away clues to keep everyone on their toes. These new clue additions will make the game even more of a blast. For the first time in show history, viewers will get the biggest clue as each contestant will be endorsed by a masked ambassador, alums of the series. It will be fun to try and figure out the connection between the alums and new contestants.
There will be fifteen contestants this year and the costumes are amazing with so much detail. The Group A contestants are Bufalo, Ship, Leaf Sheep, Show Bird, and Woodpecker. Other characters include Chess Piece, Goo, Dust Bunny, Strawberry Shortcake, Macaron and Wasp. Although the show has had some amazing costumes in past years, season 12 is expected to have outdone itself.
