Palm Beach County Basketball

Get To Know The Stars

Dwyers Xavier Scott– a 6-0 senior point guard, is one of the best basketball players in Palm Beach County, and its his intangibles that stand out the most.

“Xavier is a natural born leader,” Dwyer Coach Fred Ross said of Scott, who has a 3.7 GPA. “It’s nice to have post players. But in high school basketball, you win with guards, and Xavier is the guy who gets the big baskets when we need them.”

Dwyers Kyle McNeal– is a 6-2 guard. He quit football this year to focus on basketball, and Ross expects him to score 15 points and grab at least 10 rebounds per game.

Wellingtons Brenden Williams– A 6-0 senior point guard, average 8.1 points and 1.5 steals per game last season, and he has D1 recruiting interest.

Suncoast’s Nate Sasser– a 6-6 junior forward, has scholarship offers from Florida Gold Coast and South Florida. He also has been contacted by Arkansas.

Jupiter’s Alex Houck– a 6-3 senior shooting guard, average 17 points and 7.1 rebounds per game last season. Over the summer he put on 10 pounds of muscle – up to 190 lbs – and he could be one of the best shooters in the country.

Dwyers Juwan Dawes– is a 6-4, 210 pound senior wing. A left with a strong body, Dawes is aggressive going to the hoop but needs to make better on-court decision to get to the next level, according to Ross.

Jupiter’s Conner Weston– a 6-8 senior forward, averaged 18 points and 7 rebounds per game at Jupiter’s Christian last season, making first-team All county. He’s a shooter, but can protect the rim, too.

Dwyers Blake Wilson– is a 6-4 junior shooting guard with the potential to be a lower-level, D1 recruit. He is a three-point specialist who came in off the bench last season.

Lake Worth’s Chancellor Wilson– is a 6-6 senior shooting guard who transferred from Lake City’s Forth White. As a sophomore, he was the Lake City Player Of The Year, but he missed last season due to a knee injury.

Other players to watch include: Atlantic’s 6-3 senior guard Raquan Kelly, Boca Raton’s 6-8 senior wing Macius Trowe, Forest Hill’s 6-0 senior guard Michael Cooper, and John I. Leonard’s 6-4 senior shooting guard Toney Collins.
