Each week the contestants in their respective groups perform and give away clues. One contestant is eliminated, and they must reveal themselves.
Season Eight Preview
There are significant changes in store for the show this year. The new season will introduce what is being called “a King and Queen of The Masked Singer” style competition featuring sudden eliminations and double unmasking every episode. Each episode will feature several performances, but only one singer will move on from each episode.
The studio audience will vote for their favorite, and the singer with the least votes will have to unmask in the middle of the show. Then the top two singers will face off in Battle Royale of the same song, with one singer moving on. It will be interesting to see how the new format works out and what other twists are in store.
Another change is theme nights which will influence the song choices, set designs, and overall performances each week. Theme nights include “Vegas Night,” “Hall of Fame,” “Thanksgiving,” “Fright Night, “and “90s Night.” Fans will see the return of clue packages, first impression guesses, and the Golden Ear Trophy. This new season features more celebrity contestants, with 22.

The costumes that stand out so far are the Dragon Bride, a pink dragon donning a bridal dress, heels, and a veil. Also, the Venus Flytrap is a massive version of the plant and the tallest costume this season. Sir Bug a Boo is the most interesting as he has a cat-like face with a four-legged body dressed in a tuxedo. These are some of the cutest costumes that the show has had in a while.
