For weeks the WNBA has been doing a tournament-style vote for the best kicks for 2019. I started off voting almost every time. Once I saw that the players that have the best collections on and off the court we’re losing I lost interest.
Friday, they announced the winner. EDD. EDD?!?!?

When I think of WNBA and sneakers my mind doesn’t go to EDD. I think of Ty, Epiphanny, Seimone, Erica, Sue, Diana, Monique, and Essence. Even Maya who has a contract with Jordan.
I don’t dislike EDD at all. I love her game and respect her for playing during the finals when she was injured. And even off the court she has style and has a few dope kicks in her stash. But when it comes to kicks and WNBA she doesn’t even crack the top 10.

Biggest snubs of the contest
Ty Young and Diamond DeShields were giving the biggest snubs during this contest. Also, EDD was the only player with two selections. They even met one another in one of the rounds.
Ty has had one of the most extensive and versatile sneaker looks this year. On and off the court. The shoe they used for her are just boring. I can think of 10 more that would be better.

Diamond DeShields losing to Sophie Cunningham. I feel like they should have used the yellow pair of Fear of Gods for Diamond. Those probably would have been more appealing to the general public.
EDD beating Ty Young. The Lion King custom by Sq Custom was done well with great color and detail but Ty is wearing Maya Moore’s Jordan. Admittingly I don’t care for the shoe but it’s the better pick here.
Diamonds color choice was what kept her back. The shoe itself is fire but that yellow colorway is supreme.

In all seriousness I am not pissed, the WNBA kicks team did a decent job. Come on our podcast!!! Ultimately it was the voters from social media who selected EDD. Congrats Ms. Della Donne.

Well, EDD’s kicks were designed for the disabled, not just for show. I’ll vote for her selflessness every single time. The article’s author missed the point.
