Today I would like to talk about the developing storyline between Otis and Mandy Rose. Before we get into the storyline, lets look at the accomplishments of both people involved, before WWE.
We will start with Mandy, she started as a fitness model. Placing 1st in the World Bodybuilding Fitness & Fashion Boston, as well as placing 1st in the WBFF Diva Bikini Pro World Championship in 2014.
Now on to Otis. in college he was a champion greco-roman wrestler winning the 2009 greco-roman junior nationals in his weight class. he also won the national title in the 2011 Junior Pan-American games, as well as a bronze medal in Greco-Roman wrestling at the Pan-American games. He was a prospect for the 2012 olympic games but was not chosen. He was also the PWI Rookie of the year in 2017. Otis trained at Mercury Pro Wrestling in Arvada, Colorado. he won quite a few championships on the independent circuit before headin to WWE in 2016.
Now that we have that out of the way onto the developing storyline. I like to call this storyline “beauty and the beast”. For the last few weeks we have seen Otis taking a liking to Mandy, and honestly it looks like a guy with his 1st crush. With how sweet of a guy Otis is, I knew there was “heel heartbreak” in his future. After Mandy Rose kissed him on the cheek I knew he was destined to get messed with. Then there was the “Ham Incident”. Which led to the “fruitcake incident”. Now when Dolph Ziggler squished that fruitcake we got the “heel heartbreak.” Mandy looked visibly upset by his advances, as well as upset by what he did to the fruitcake that Otis’ mother had made just for her. The look of heartbreak on Otis’ face when he discovered the smashed fruitcake was quite upsetting…
The next week we get a backstage spot of Otis curling a beer keg to get hyped up for his match. Mandy tried to apologize and tell him what really happened, but it looked like after their conversation being interrupted by Tucker [who gave Mandy about the dirtiest look ever mind you]. He took off to his match and squashed his competition in a great beat down of anger.
So now we are 1 day away from SmackDown and all I can say is I hope this storyline has more happy points than unhappy. Like maybe a faction that comes out of it.
