Isn’t this great? Boston getting scored on five seconds after a tripping call was missed? Seriously, can you think of anything better?
Sorry, but Not Really
Look, the teams I cheer for seem to get shafted every year by bad officiating, so am I supposed to feel bad for the Bruins and their fans? Absolutely not. If anything, I’m glad it happened. It makes me happy seeing their fans on twitter complaining like they never catch any breaks. I don’t feel bad whatsoever.
Besides Bruins fans acting like little babies on twitter, maybe they should be mad at their own team for scoring one goal in 60 minutes of play. Why does it always boil down to one call? What about the other 59 minutes and 57 seconds of the game where the Bruins had every opportunity to score? To me, sure the blown call sucks, but you just can’t rely on the refs in a championship game, you just can’t. I remember seeing the play and hearing Bruins fans getting pissed off that the refs didn’t call anything, followed by them getting scored on moments later. Boston fans even threw shit on the ice because they were that upset, but I thought only Philly fans did that?
Look, I don’t want a blown call being the reason a game is decided but it is what it is, and the Bruins could have scored more than one goal and we wouldn’t be here talking about it. The Blues look very good, and I’ll be looking for O’Reilly to continue his impressive postseason campaign on Sunday when the Cup will be in town. I think if this thing goes game 7, the Bruins have a high chance of bringing it all home, but the Blues have been good on the road so far this postseason, so game 7 could be a wildcard. This is me talking like the Bruins are going to win game 6, and I don’t know if they are capable. If Binnington plays like he did last night in game 6, the Blues will be hoisting their first ever Stanley Cup in front of the St. Louis faithful.
I’m so sorry Boston fans, you guys will be okay! Try not to become an embarrassment like the Saints fans became after the missed called in the playoffs.
