I have always been asked, who’ s rankings do you use? The truth is I like to create my own. For a few years, there were one or two guys I would follow. I stayed away from the ESPN’s and Yahoos because, well that is what everyone is bringing to the draft party. Do not be afraid to be different, be unique. With that being said I give you, the 2019 Fantasy Football Quarterback Overall Rankings and Tiers.
Whatever site you use, the projection’s always pop up and I have watched most guys stick to it. I plug my projections right in the sight I am drafting on and this way my guys are in order I would like them in, making drafting much easier and making sure my 2019 Fantasy Football Quarterback Rankings are set.
Tiers
I am sure at one time or another you have purchased one of those magazines from the store that has all the info you need and a lot of Info you do not need.
You would see some rankings that are by tiers. Tiers help you group players based on production and where you think they would finish in a range of a group of other guys. It helps you separate guys from one another. You don’t have to use tiers; I like to use it to see during the draft if anyone has fallen and if I have them ranked in a higher group. It is all preference.
Here are my overall rankings for the start of 2019. The ADP (Average Draft Position) are where guys are going in drafts as of right now. I use Fantasy Football Pro’s but you can find them anywhere.

Since I use tiers I will explain my rankings so you could understand.
Tier One
Rank | Name | Pos | Tm | ADP |
1 | Patrick Mahomes | QB | KC | 1 |
2 | Andrew Luck | QB | IND | 2 |
3 | Aaron Rodgers | QB | GB | 4 |
4 | Deshaun Watson | QB | HOU | 3 |
I struggled with this tier. I had Luck at one, and with no real news of Tyrek Hill, then we got the word that as only the NFL would do, they decided there will be no actions taken against Hill, so by that in itself would make Mahomes my number one QB. Luck is my guy this year. The Colts have supplied him with the tools he needs to succeed with. Rodgers at 3 I am not a fan of, but that is where he checks in for me. Rodgers is talented and has studs around him, but he can be a head case and basically fall apart. I believe Deshaun Watson could have a breakout year with the best WR in the league, and if you like Hopkins then you have to like the guy throwing him the ball.
If you read my article, Waiting on a QB , then you know I will not be taking any of these guys, I will leave them for someone else.
Tier Two
Rank | Name | Pos | Tm | ADP |
5 | Matt Ryan | QB | ATL | 6 |
6 | Baker Mayfield | QB | CLE | 5 |
7 | Russell Wilson | QB | SEA | 8 |
8 | Drew Brees | QB | NO | 7 |
In this tier, Mayfield has been the most spoken about. Mayfield is going as high as the 4th QB taken in drafts. Matt Ryan would be my guy in this group as he is surrounded by a better offensive line and his weapons surrounding him with Julio, Ridley, Sano, Hoover, and Freemen you would think he is in for a great season. Russell Wilson, I have always been a fan of, but last year Seattle ran the ball more than they threw. With the retirement of Doug Baldwin, Wilson will have to make plays happen, and he has shown he can.
Drew Brees is Drew Brees. There is not many that are safer than he is. I always look for upside and I can not see where it would come from with Brees. If you’re looking for the same production as the past, then Brees is your guy.
Tier Three
Rank | Name | Pos | Tm | ADP |
9 | Carson Wentz | QB | PHI | 10 |
10 | Ben Roethlisberger | QB | PIT | 15 |
11 | Cam Newton | QB | CAR | 9 |
12 | Jared Goff | QB | LA | 12 |
13 | Tom Brady | QB | NE | 13 |
14 | Philip Rivers | QB | LAC | 14 |
15 | Dak Prescott | QB | DAL | 17 |
16 | Jameis Winston | QB | TB | 16 |
17 | Mitchell Trubisky | QB | CHI | 18 |
Again if you read my article then you know this is where I start looking for my QB. The biggest surprise I saw in this group is that Ben Roethlesberger is going 15th out of all the QB,’s. I am assuming because Antonio Brown and Le’veon Bell are gone. Big Ben is still surrounded by talent. Juju, Washington and the newly acquired Donte Moncreif , Roethlesberger has the guys around him. Don’t forget James Connor out of the backfield. I like all these guys to be my QB1 or even grab 2 and play the matchups.
Tier Four
Rank | Name | Pos | Tm | ADP |
18 | Kirk Cousins | QB | MIN | 22 |
19 | Lamar Jackson | QB | BAL | 19 |
20 | Jimmy Garoppolo | QB | SF | 20 |
21 | Kyler Murray | QB | ARI | 11 |
22 | Sam Darnold | QB | NYJ | 26 |
23 | Matthew Stafford | QB | DET | 23 |
24 | Josh Allen | QB | BUF | 22 |
25 | Marcus Mariota | QB | TEN | 28 |
26 | Derek Carr | QB | OAK | 24 |
27 | Andy Dalton | QB | CIN | 30 |
28 | Nick Foles | QB | JAC | 25 |
This group would start your backups. At this point you should have picked up a guy in the upper tiers. My guy this year is Kirk Cousins. If you could get him this late I would jump on it. In my last article take a look and see why I think Cousins could be a fit as a QB1. Now, the big standout here is Kyler Murray going as the 11th QB off the board. By no means would I even consider him that high. I like Murray, don’t get me wrong, but there is so much talent left on the board.
Tier Five
Rank | Name | Pos | Tm | ADP |
29 | Eli Manning | QB | NYG | 29 |
30 | Joe Flacco | QB | DEN | 31 |
31 | Ryan Fitzpatrick | QB | MIA | 34 |
32 | Dwayne Haskins | QB | WAS | 27 |
33 | Josh Rosen | QB | MIA | 33 |
34 | Case Keenum | QB | WAS | 35 |
35 | Daniel Jones | QB | NYG | 32 |
36 | Drew Lock | QB | DEN | 37 |
I can only say one thing about this group:
