As a wrestling fan it’s always great to see our favorites be champions over and over again! It seems to always put a smile on our faces. In WWE it can be sometimes over baring though. WWE has a habit of creating a category without knowing it called buried talent.
Buried Talent
Why do I mention this? There is several wrestlers on both RAW and SmackDown that never held a title. Why you ask? It seems to be the same ones over and over again getting a chance. For many years we have seen Kofi Kingston work his butt off, to finally get what he deserves the most. The WWE Championship, and becoming the first ever African American to do so. Then we have people like Dana Brooke, Mojo Rawley, Zack Ryder, and Curt Hawkins.
Yes, Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins won the RAW tag team titles at Wrestlemania, but after losing them a few months later, they haven’t been able to get their motivation back.
The Miz has fell in between the cracks. Not even able to get a chance in the spotlight. Natalya has slowly but surely falling into the dark as well.
You have the likes of Charlotte Flair who always seems to find her way into a title picture, even though sometimes she may not even earn it. Is it really based on who her father is?
I am a fan of Charlotte Flair and so proud of the many things she has accomplished, but I believe she should step aside and let somebody else have a chance.
What causes more buried talent is two words.. Brock Lesnar. Just when you think the beast is gone, he comes in and takes away all the opportunities from others that show up 24/7 on their brand, every week. He seems to be able to show up whenever he wants and gets a title.
Finn Bálor was the first ever WWE Universal Champion. As a huge Bálor fan, he seems like he never really got the proper rematch for a title he never lost.
24/7 Championship
The 24/7 Championship was created to give some more opportunities. It seems that’s not the case. Between Elias, R-Truth and Drake Maverick always chasing the title and always getting the chance, gets old for sure. There are others that deserve a chance to be a champion even if it’s for a mili second.
More Buried Talent..
There is two more WWE Superstars who deserve more then what they are receiving. Asuka and Kairi Sane aka Kabuki Warriors. The two talented Japanese girls have proven they can get the job done as a tag team, but keep falling short when it comes to the title matches.
There is so many others not mentioned in this article, that has become a buried talent. Others we haven’t seen in awhile. Like where is Konnor and Viktor?
Reports show that WWE is worried about AEW taking over. Will they? Who knows at this point. What WWE needs to worry about is their “so called buried talent “ that might just give up and go else where. AEW can be a factor into snatching up the great talent that’s been left in the dark, and there is nothing WWE can do about it.
