This is a special edition of NXT before Christmas. Will the gold and black go out with a bang? Let’s take a look at the NXT preview for the week. NXT Heating up!
Shayna Baszler(c) vs Rhea Ripley (NXT Women’s Championship Match)
After a build up, we finally see this match. Shayna Baszler will never admit she is scared of Rhea Ripley; but you never see the champion take her down alone. For Ripley to dominate this match and finally take down the Queen of Spades, she will need some reinforcements on standby. Like always I’m sure Jessmyn Duke and Marina Shafir will be on standby for Baszler. Rumors are going around that Ripley will win and Baszler will rise to RAW or SmackDown. Both ladies are very talented and athletic in the ring; and deserve to be champion. Will Ripley be able to over power the Queen of Spades? Or will Baszler be too much, and Ripley taps out to submission magician.
Adam Cole(c) vs Finn Balor (NXT Championship Match)
This match will kick off NXT. It was confirmed on Twitter. What will Finn Balor have in store for Adam Cole? Balor has been on fire after coming back home to the gold and black brand. Balor turned heel to bring back his past to make it his future. The former NXT champion will have to work against all odds to overcome Cole. After beating Keith Lee and Tomasso Ciampa for the chance against Cole, he should be able to start taking down The Undisputed Era.
The one thing Balor will need to be prepared for, is Cole will have the rest of the ERA, on standby. I have no idea who could be on standby for the prince, but he needs to keep all options open. Will the prince be able to overcome the odds of Adam Cole and become a 2x NXT Champion, or will he just fall short in the hands of Adam Cole? I hope to have Balor look at Cole and say “Checkmate”.
NXT Heating Up
Over recent weeks we could see a few matches or feuds inserted into the card for NXT. Killian Dain and Pete Dunne. Or what is really next for the Man of the Honor Lio Rush after losing the cruiserweight title to Adam Garza? No matter what the outcomes of the rest of the matches or feuds the gold and black brand will find a way to heat things up.
Make sure to watch NXT on Wednesdays at 8pm, on the USA Network.
Merry Christmas from BellyUp Sports!
