Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages. It is your good buddy @KC_CARLYLE coming at you once again. Today, we will be talking a little bit about how there are, no more hugs; and the heel turn of Bayley. Also updates on her Mania match.
As most of my regular readers know I like to give a little bit of backstory before they arrived in WWE for the wrestlers I feature exclusively in an article. Bayley, whose real name is Pamela Rose Martinez was born on June 15, 1989 in Newark, California. She began attending wrestling shows at age eleven for a promotion known as Big Time Wrestling. In April 2008 at the age of eighteen, she began her training attending Big Time Wrestling’s training classes led by Jason Styles.
Bayley had her first match in September 2008, wrestling under the name Davina Rose. Davina Rose would wrestle for Big Time Wrestling from 2008 to 2012. Between 2011 and 2012 while still wrestling as Davina Rose, Bayley would begin branching out to other promotions. These promotions included NWA Championship Wrestling from Hollywood, Pro Wrestling Destination and Shine Wrestling.
In October of 2010 Bayley (while still wrestling as Davina Rose) met her mentor Serena. In October 2011, Bayley made her debut in Shimmer Women Athletes at the Shimmer Volume 41-44 tapings. Davina Rose would also wrestle at Shimmer Volumes 51 and 52, picking up her first two singles victories over Cherry Bomb and Rhia O’Reilly.
Then in December 2012, it was made public that Pamela Rose Martinez had signed with WWE’s developmental territory NXT.
In January 2013, Martinez made her debut at an NXT live event wrestling under a mask. She then adopted the name Bayley, making her NXT television debut in a loss to Paige on the March 20 episode on NXT. So, then later on June 12th, she adopted the doe-eyed fangirl gimmick we all knew.
Ok now that we have completed our history lesson for the day. Let’s get down to “the meat and potatoes of this article.” On the September 2nd, 2019 episode of Raw Bayley turned heel by attacking Becky Lynch. Then during the date of October 11, 2019, Bayley came out with a new look. As well as a new attitude, she had cut her hair short and then did the unthinkable. After Bayley had come out on the stage she reached for what appeared to be an axe, and proceeded to slaughter all of the “Bayley Buddies.”
Bayley’s attack on the “Bayley Buddies” caused mass hysteria both in the arena and to the viewers at home. Many many videos began to surface of little kids crying their eyes out. These children just could not believe that Bayley could do that. So, in essence, we had what we in the wrestling world call “the perfect heel turn. We had seen that there would be, no more hugs the heel turn of Bayley, and well as updates on her Mania match.
Now on to Bayley’s Wrestlemania match.
Tonight on the March 20th, 2020 episode of WWE SmackDowb we saw Paige appear on the Titantron via Skype. After some very heated words back and forth, and a few profanities Paige dropped a bomb on Bayley and Sasha Banks. This was a match announcement of huge proportions. Paige announced that Bayley would defend her WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship in a Six-Pack Challenge match. The announcement of Bayley’s opponents would bring the heat between Paige and Bayley to nuclear levels!
Bayley’s opponents were announced as “The Sassy Southern Belle” Lacey Evans, Dana Brooke, Tamina, Naomi, and Sasha Banks! Now after hearing this Bayley said some very unkind things to Paige and left the ring. The interesting part was the look on Sasha Banks’ face, a look which was quite sinister, with a hint of a backstabber.
