What’s wrong with the WNBA? Ya, I just asked it! No, No, No, this isn’t one of those sexist articles about it being less superior and yada yada. While I sit here sipping on my high dollar cold Busch Light and reflect on the world without sports. I cannot wrap my mind around the WNBA and the lack of support it gets from the majority.
Sure, many may not find it enjoyable or as fast-paced as the NBA. That’s ok, it really is… But what is more mind-blowing to me is how a sport like this gets so much negativity when really there are a lot trying to feature it and bring it to the forefront, but it falls on deaf ears. Let me give you an example! Our good friend here at Belly Up Sports and one of my guests on What’s Up Belly Up (Listen to EP Here), Ari Chambers is a huge supporter but she knocks it out of the park with this… one…
It's very confusing to me how we fight for more women's coverage, but when the smaller companies/platforms reach out to do things, they get denied. This has got to stop. It really does.

While many may believe the WNBA can’t compete and can’t be relevant, I beg to differ. One day my two-year-old will be a grown-ass woman. If someone tells her that what she is doing in life isn’t as good as the next. You can bet your ass papa bear will come unglued and make sure that’s the last time someone messes with her. It’s no different than saying the women’s game is less important than any other.
Needless to say, above all else, there are many that cover it and cover it well. But when we come knocking and you turn us away, you are not only doing a disservice to your sport. But you are hurting the athletes that fight so hard to make a difference! It’s not just about the game… it’s about empowering women and supporting them to the fullest… but hey what do I know… I just stay up late at night drinking beer and talk about what comes to mind! Ya… back to that beer!
