The NFL season is getting closer, but we still have the COVID-19 with us and there are many doubts about how the season will be played or if we even are going to have a season. The players and the owners are doing everything they can to have one, so let’s hope for everything to be ok in order to have the NFL season in time and with everybody safe… lets go to the NFC East Preview!!!

Best Draft Picks

CeeDee Lamb, Oklahoma, WR (Rd 1)
Trevon Diggs, Alabama, CB (Rd 2)
Neville Gallimore, Oklahoma, DT (Rd 3)
Reggie Robinson II, Tulsa, CB (Rd 4)
Tyler Biadasz, Wisconsin, C (Rd 4)

Analysis

Dallas comes to this season with high expectations. All their main offensive figures are under contract and ready to demonstrate that they are worth the juicy contracts they have been given. Prescott has not signed in the long term yet but will play under the franchise player tag.

They had one of the best Drafts in 2020 and their defense looks very good especially on the front line with the arrival of McCoy, Poe, and Aldon Smith. It is a great challenge for Coach McCarty since Mr. Jones will ask for immediate results and he’s in his first year with the team. Also, Mr. Jerry Jones has given him everything he needs to be the best team in his division.

I think Dallas should take the NFC East this year but I still don’t see him as a Super Bowl contender.

 2020 Projection: 11-5

Xavier McKinney, Alabama, S (Rd 2)
Matt Peart, UConn, OT (Rd 3)
Darnay Holmes, UCLA, CB (Rd 4)
Shane Lemieux, Oregon, OG (Rd 5)

Analysis

The Giants are rebuilding and they are on the right track. Daniel Jones showed very good things as a rookie and is only expected to improve. Saquon Barkley is already one of the most dangerous RBs in the league and this season they have focused on reinforcing the offensive line through Draft and free agency.

They also reinforced the defense which will be much more competitive with the arrival of Martinez and Bradberry, but the progress or setback of this reconstruction is in the hands of a new head coach in the figure of Joe Judge, who has never held this position before.

I think the Giants are on the right track and in a couple of years we will see them fighting for first place in the NFC East, but this season I don’t see them in the playoffs yet.

 2020 Projection: 7-9

Philadelphia Eagles

 Best Draft Picks

Jalen Reagor, TCU, WR (Rd 1)
Jalen Hurts, Oklahoma, QB (Rd 2)
Davion Taylor, Colorado, OLB (Rd 3)
K’Von Wallace, Clemson, S (Rd 4)
Jack Driscoll, Auburn, OG (Rd 4)
John Hightower, Boise State, WR (Rd 5)

Analysis

Philadephia lived a nightmare with injuries last season, especially in their WR corps. This season they focused on reinforcing them both in free agency and in the Draft. In addition to this they select in the second round QB Jalen Hurts who comes as insurance in the event that his starting QB and great promise Carson Wentz gets injured again.

The defense was heavily decimated in free agency, especially in the linebacker and defensive end, we will see how they do without elements as important as Curry, Jernigan, Gruber-Hill, and Nigel Bradham.

They are the only team in the division that has not changed their head coach and that’s their great advantage since Coach Pederson has done a great job and they have been running his system for several years. In this particular season, this could be a great factor because of the limited training they are going to have.

That’s why despite all its defensive losses, I see the Eagles in the Playoffs and fighting Dallas the NFC East

 2020 Projection: 10-6

Washington Football Team

Washington Football Team

 Key Arrivals

QB Kyle Allen
TE Richard Rodgers
LB Thomas Davis
LB Kevin Pierre-Louis
CB Ronald Darby
CB Kendall Fuller.

Key Departures

QB Case Keenum
RB Chris Thompson
TE Jordan Reed
OT Trent Williams
G Ereck Flowers
CB Josh Norman.

Best Draft Picks

Chase Young, Ohio State, DE (Rd 1)
Antonio Gibson, Memphis, WR (Rd 3)
Saahdiq Charles, LSU, OT (Rd 4)
Antonio Gandy-Golden, Liberty, WR (Rd 4)

Analysis

This team is in a very bad place right now  and all starts from its head. I do not mean the head coach, I mean the owner, Dan Snyder.

The team does not even have a name right now since they withdrew his old name due to racial conflicts and pressure from their sponsors such as FedEx and Nike.

They have not been able to present the new name and logo apparently because some clever guy went ahead and registered the vast majority of the possible names for the team, in addition to this and the current pandemic a scandal emerges of sexual harassment to several employees by various team officials.

Talking strictly about Football, they depend 100% on their first team from last year. Dwayne Haskins turns out to be a real Franchise QB and the future of the franchise.

The new head coach Ron Rivera has a great challenge. He needs to form a competitive team without enough preparation time and knowing how to focus the players with all the distractions around the team.

That’s why I see the Washington team at the bottom of the NFC East and even I see them in the fight for the first overall selection in the next draft.

 2020 Projection: 3-13

That’s all for this week, please join me next week with my last divisional analysis. Please be safe!!!
