Well, would you look at that, we made it, NFL Week 1 of the 2020 season.
I have been waiting for it, pining for it, but three months ago, I thought there was about a 12 percent chance the season would kick-off.
COVID-19 be damned!
Now, down to business, the business of overreacting and what better time than NFL Week 1.
Kickers
All of them.
If you watched any of the games or their highlights, and you thought, “This is atrocious!” you would be correct and incredibly kind.
How atrocious?
There was only one game out of 16 that didn’t include either a missed field goal or a missed extra point (Packers-Vikings).
In all, Week 1 saw 19 missed field goals and five missed extra points.
According to our research team here at CBS Sports, the 19 missed kicks were the most combined missed field goals in nearly a decade. The last time there were 19 errant field goals in the same week came all the way back in Week 10 of 2011

Release all the kickers.
Josh Allen
What I read and heard after the Bills-Jets game was how impressive Josh Allen looked (33-46, 312 yards, 2 TDs) with the consensus being that Allen had made a jump with high praise for his running ability and his first career 300+ yard passing game.
My consensus was Allen had good moments, but his decision making is still a bit sketchy to me. Between his overthrow of a wide-open John Brown in the end zone and his two fumbles in the red zone, I think my feeling is justified.
So in his third season, granted only a week into it, the jury is still out on Josh Allen.
Aaron Donald
I am old enough to have seen Lawrence Taylor wreak coke fueled rage on his fellow man.
I also consider Lawrence Taylor to be the greatest defensive player in the history of the NFL.
Aaron Donald is every bit the force that Taylor was.

Look at this man disregard every and any Cowboy in his way. He’s the best defensive player in the league, and it’s not close.
Russell Wilson
When I read that Russell Wilson has never received even a single MVP vote my head nearly imploded.
Not a single vote? Really?
Russ went off against the Falcons on Sunday to the tune of 31-35, 322 and 4 TDs.
MVP! MVP! MVP!

The Washington Football Team
The Philadelphia Eagles were up 17-0 in the first half, and then Washington’s defense transformed into the ’85 Bears en route to an eventual 27-17 comeback victory.
Rookie Chase Young got the first sack of his career as the Washington defense finished with eight sacks, three forced fumbles, and two interceptions.
They’re going to finish 8-8. I said what I said.
