Midseason of The Masked Singer is upon us as we recap what has happened so far. Since the show has to postpone this week’s episode until Sunday, it is a good time to look back at the contestants still left to compete. Also, to recap, which contestants have been revealed so far.
Masked Singer’s Season eight premiered on September 21st as twenty-two contestants were expected to compete. Since then, eleven contestants have been revealed, and a new format was introduced. Last week viewers saw the Robot Girl in shocking elimination be revealed as actress Kat Graham. Also, tv host Jerry Springer exited as the Beetle.
Season Eight Midseason Recap
Hedgehog, Mummies, Fortune Teller, Pirate Rat, Hummingbird, and Panther, were eliminated in the first round of the competition. Also, viewers saw the reveal of legendary singer Gloria Gaynor who was the Mermaid, two weeks ago. Some big names have been revealed, and it’s been fun to watch so far.
The new format change has been an interesting element of the show this season that has had an impact. For instance, Harp crushed her competitors in the early episodes, and she is in the semi-finals. More contestants exit quickly, and talented singers are zipping right by without giving others a chance.
A downside to this is that competitors are not getting a lot of time to showcase their talent or song more than one song. Therefore, the new format is not sitting well with fans who enjoy watching a competitor grow throughout the season. Also, some good singers are being overlooked, and it’s hard to follow if there are different singers each week. It will be interesting to see how it continues to work.
