In honor of 2/22/22, I wanted to give my list of the top players to wear the number two for the Chicago Bulls.

4. Lonzo Ball

(Guard, 2021-Present)

Lonzo Ball was signed and traded to the Chicago Bulls in August to a four-year deal. Lonzo Ball has made an instant impact in turning the Bulls culture and providing a consistent playmaker.

The Bulls have lacked a reliable playmaker for years and finally found their franchise point guard. Along with playmaking, Lonzo has provided much more.

Lonzo Ball has been a problem for opposing players with his defense. It is rare to see him give up on a play and he is always active getting blocks and steals.

Also, Lonzo has been shooting a team-best, 42.3 percent from three. With his shooting, playmaking, and defense, he is a fan favorite.

I would expect Lonzo to move up this list over time, but he has only played 35 games with Chicago.

3. Eddy Curry

(Center, 2002-2005)

Eddy Curry was drafted by Chicago in the 2001 Draft, as the fourth pick. With this, came high expectations.

Eddy Curry’s biggest strength was scoring in the paint. In his last with Chicago, he averaged 16.1 PPG.

Unfortunately, Curry’s peak happened with the New York Knicks but was still a serviceable player for Chicago those four seasons.

Eddy Curry, Tyson Chandler, Jay Williams, Kirk Hinrich, and Jamal Crawford were expected to be the future of the Chicago Bulls.

Most of the players will reach their peak with different teams, except Jay Williams (injury), and Kirk Hinrich.

Bulls: 2. Nate Robinson

(Guard, 2013)

How does someone who only played one season for Chicago, end up being second on my list?

Nate Robinson consistently bounced around the NBA and had one of his best seasons with the Bulls.

In Chicago, he originally came to be a backup point guard. Although, he became much more. In particular, the first-round playoff series against the Nets.

During this series, he averaged 17 PPG and an impressive Game 4. In that game, Robinson carried the Bull’s with 34 points and a victory.

Unfortunately, the Bulls will lose to the big three Miami Heat the following round. Overall, Nate Robinson was great during this run which puts him at number two on my list.

Bulls: 1. Norm Van Lier

(Guard, 1971-78)

Norm Van Lier came to Chicago and accomplished many awards. He received three All-Star appearances, three All-Defense appearances, and an All-NBA appearance.

With that said, Norm Van Lier was a great player for the Chicago Bulls and deserving of the number one spot.

Along with being a great player, he is better known as a television broadcaster during the 90s for the Bulls.
