As you may know, the 2022 – 23 NBA season is the seventy-seventh National Basketball Association season. The All-Star Game is scheduled to take place on February 19, and the playoffs are due to begin on April 15. The NBA Finals will occur in June next year. While the likes of the Golden State Warriors, the Boston Celtics, the Los Angeles Clippers, the Milwaukee Bucks, the Phoenix Suns, the Denver Nuggets, and the Philadelphia 76ers are all hotly tipped to come out on top, there are several underdog teams that have the potential to go all the way. Here are some of the underdogs to watch out for.

Atlanta Hawks

With recent transfer Trae Young and newcomer De’Andre Hunter, the Atlanta Hawks stand a chance of doing better than many expect during this NBA season.

But the Atlanta team will need to improve a lot on their disastrous last season if they want to prove they can still be one of the best teams in the East.

Whether you’re a fan of the Atlanta Hawks or another team, you can keep up with the most recent NBA news for the 2022 – 23 season and more on the Inquistr website. You can also get all the latest news on your favorite basketball player.

Indiana Pacers

Although the Indiana Pacers started last season with playoff aspirations, close early losses and multiple injuries meant that never happened.

But this season could be the one in which the team rebuilds and goes all the way, especially since they have now acquired Tyrese Haliburton and Buddy Hield.

And while there are sure to be growing pains with the combination of Haliburton, Chris Duarte, and Bennedict Mathurin on the court together, they have the potential to take the Pacers to new heights.

Detroit Pistons

The Detroit Pistons may not have gone all the way last season, but they certainly looked like a fresh team in the spring.

And seeing as Cade Cunningham showed a lot of promise during his rookie season and new draft Jaden Ivey is a hot new acquisition, the Pistons are underdogs who certainly have a potential shot of reaching the playoffs this season.

Cleveland Cavaliers

The last season was a rollercoaster ride for the Cleveland Cavaliers. They began with low expectations but got off to a great start.

In fact, throughout last November, the Cavaliers were consistently ranked between the fourth and eighth seeds before reaching their peak in the following month when they had the potential to become number two in the Eastern Conference.

However, as you may remember, the Cavaliers eventually lost to both the Hawks and the Nets, which ended their playoff aspirations.

Now, the team has a true star on board with Donovan Mitchell, and with other strong players like Jarrett Allen, Darius Garland, and Evan Mobley, the Cleveland Cavaliers certainly have a chance of reclaiming their dignity.

Chicago Bulls

The Chicago Bulls got off to a good start last season, but injuries and illnesses resulted in the team limping into the postseason.

And with Lonzo Ball currently out of action, it looks like the Chicago Bulls could have another problematic season.

However, the All-Star trio of DeMar DeRozan, Nikola Vucevic, and Zach LaVine could be enough to make the Bulls powerful enough to contend with the elite teams of the Eastern Conference.

Only time will tell whether the Chicago Bulls or any other team on our list of underdogs can go all the way during the 2022 – 23 NBA season. Though, it is more likely that one of these teams will win the new NBA season.
