Monday Night Raw comes to us live tonight from inside the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida!
Legends Everywhere
For tonight’s special edition of Monday Night Raw, WWE is advertising a whole host of legends. These names include Stone Cold Steve Austin, Ric Flair, Mick Foley, DX, and countless others. In previous years, WWE has hosted several shows similar to this such as Raw 1000, Raw 25, and Old School Raw.
The legends need to give superstars the rub in every segment. Stone Cold and Kevin Owens should give stunners to the McMahon’s together. The Fiend should terrify the Boogeyman, or anyone in general. Involve Santino Marella and Mick Foley in the 24/7 championship fodder. These are just suggestions but they make sense in the flow of how Raw/SmackDown have been in the past few weeks.
These Hall of Famers and legends should make the stars of today look amazing, and not be there to get over. Raw Reunion is a great concept but it’s worrisome due to the history of WWE and these types of shows.
Seth Rollins
Seth Rollins was able to outlast nine other superstars in last week’s main event battle royal to determine who will face Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam. Rollins has already defeated Lesnar once this year, in decisive fashion at WrestleMania. If Rollins is able to get his title back, this victory would mean so much more than the previous. But will WWE be so quick to take the belt off Lesnar?
It remains to be seen whether or not Lesnar will be on tonight’s show. Due to all of the superstars coming for tonight’s Raw Reunion, Brock might make himself scare tonight. You never know. If WWE can book Stone Cold and Hulk Hogan tonight, there’s every chance he might show up. Rollins needs something to get this feud off the ground because without Lesnar, the hype for this possible main event match is almost nonexistent.
Becky Lynch & Natalya
Nattie showed some edge last week after winning a number one contenders match to face Becky Lynch at SummerSlam. Fans have been speculating whether WWE will turn her heel or not leading up to the biggest party of the summer. SummerSlam is in Canada this year, which is Nattie’s home country so she’ll still get a good reaction whether she’s heel or not. The Hart’s are over in Canada.
That might be a problem for Lynch, who after fighting Lacey Evans since she won the Raw Woman’s title at WrestleMania, has seriously lost momentum. Repetitive booking made her, dare I say, stale. A Nattie heel turn might be exactly what Lynch needs.
The Club
Ever since AJ Styles turned heel and reforming the Club in WWE, the United States championship has never been more relevant. The title has been featured in main event segments, PPV’s, and one of, if not the best wrestler on the planet is currently the champion.
Gallows & Anderson are getting more legit every week. For years they floundered in WWE nothingness and irrelevancy until now. With the way things are going, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Good Brothers won the Raw tag titles sometime soon.
