It’s official: the Indiana Pacers are on a roll. The Pacers have appeared to turn around their slow start this season, winning six of their last seven games. The Pacers (6-4) go up against the Thunder (4-6) tonight in Indianapolis.
On Sunday, the Domantas Sabonis lead Pacers defeated the Magic 109-102 in Orlando. Sabonis recorded his fourth straight double-double and led the team in points with 21 and added 16 rebounds.
The Pacers addition of guard Malcom Brogdon is looking pretty good up to this point, with the new addition putting up 20.8 points and 8.9 assists per game so far this season. Brogdon is making up for the temporary loss of star shooting guard Victor Oladipo. The talk is that Oladipo is expected to return in December, but nothing has been confirmed up to this point.
Another key player the Pacers are playing without is center Myles Turner. Turner has been listed as week-to-week for now. Even without two key players, the Pacers are looking very good and have a nice winning streak going for them. Pacers fans are confident that this team can be dangerous come playoff time.
TJ Warren, Malcom Brogdon, Domantos Sabonis and company are playing good basketball even without their two best players on the court, and the best is yet to come with both Oladipo and Turner expected to return this season.
Last season, the Pacers were swept in four games by the Boston Celtics, but a vastly improved roster and added depth could be the difference this season for the Indiana Pacers.
If the Pacers can hold out until their stars return, this could be a very successful season for the Pacers. The upcoming schedule appears to be difficult, but it eases up after they play the Nets on the 18th. Myles Turner is expected to be back by then.
The Pacers are -3.0 tonight against Oklahoma City at home.
